I gave 8.6 a try. WMC does install properly, services are not showing errors and launches but it does not find the tuner. At first I thought it had to do with the fact that the HDHomerun older drivers were removed because the service was missing. I reinstalled them and saw the service running - still no luck. I tried reinstalling WMC several times - no luck. I also tried reverting back to v12 to see if that would work and now that can't get passed DISM errors. Not good
Sorry, early here, sleep in my eyes still, yeh DVB-T. Only problem was drivers changes that didn't work, BUT easy fixed.
After upgrading to the anniversary update my V12 disappeared, I tried to reinstall it (without removing the old leftovers) and got the error code 0x800f0922, rebooted and tried to install again, and it worked fine. I even have the sound setup working from within media center now.
I am using hdhomerun Prime Just like everyone I upgraded to the anniversary edition and found the WMC is missing. So I installed v12 and it gave me errors. So completely uninstalled v12 and installed v8.6. Here are the detials; 1. WMC installed without any error. 2. Opens up to configuration, it says the tv tuner is not found even though Hdhomeprime setup found all three tuners. 3. In the "computer management"-services, all the services are running. So after many hours I gave up on v8.6 and went back to v12. Here are the details: 1. V12 installed without any error. 2. Still the Hdhomerun prime shows three tuners. 3. WMC will not open up when clicked on it. 4. All the services in Computer management is running except "Windows Media Center Receiver Service" and is not even listed in the services. Any help would be appreciated.
With my scripts all I had to do was drop a bundle of .wtv files into a folder, run the top level script, leave the batch to "cook" and I had a folder with the .mpg files. It deleted the intermediate .wtv and .dvr-ms files as each file converted. It used command-line calls to WTVConverter.exe and DVRMSToolbox\DVRMStoMPEG.exe.
I have the Ceton InfiniTV 4 USB. I installed Windows 10 Pro 64bit v1607 build14393 (basically the latest OS having the anniversary update) on another drive then installed WMC v12 64bit and Ceton Windows 8 drivers and rebooted. Ceton Diagnostics and Windows found the tuners. WMC launches fine but will not find the tuners during the setup. Yes I know it's been said but just confirming from me. Luckily I deferred updates and able to use WMC on v1511 build10586. Sucks you guys have to keep updating WMC with a Windows update but hope you find a solution. If not, I might as well make another system build with Windows 7 to use my tuners without worrying about them not working during Windows updates. Hmm....looking at newegg.com the ZOTAC ZBOX C Series CI323 looks tempting since it's passive cooling but need special steps to install Windows 7. Bookmarking it anyway for later.
I am running HDHOMERUN Prime and have been successfully (and happily) running V12 on Windows 10 Pro. Like usmalu I installed the anniversary update and it removed/uninstalled WMC. I was able to reinstall V12 but the two WMC services show "<Failed to Read Description. Error Code: 15100 >" in the description and the Receiver Service is stuck on "Starting". WMC won't launch. Will watch this space for (hopefully) a fix or workaround. Many thanks for the support up to this point.
Same issue for me on Win10 1607 with the HDHomeRun Prime. Won't detect my tuner anymore. After several hours of trying different things I rolled back to 1511 for now. There's an option to rollback under Settings>Updates & security>Recovery.
Installed Anniversary Update for Windows 10 last night, it removed Windows Media Center.... My Programdata files are still there, so getting WMC running should bring all my settings back. And now just DISM errors again....sigh... I guess it's time to trash v12 and go to 8.6....thanks T-S... Edit: So much for saving settings.... and my Ceton drivers are not detected... Windows Media Center did not find a compatible tuner...Crap.... Nope...I guess I will remove 8.6 and try v12 again.... My Ceton driver, I uninstalled it and re-installed it, reset tuner settings so they show up in WMC.... and still they show "No tuner found" never had this problem with v12 but, it could be the "Anniversary Update" that broke it.... Oh, well, thanks anyway T-S...
With a Ceton Infinitv 6 ETH: Is it possible to set up Event Ghost to see what happens when Ceton Diagnostics discovers tuners and when Windows Media Center discovers the tuners (in 1511)
I don't know. I installed it but I have never used it either. Do you see all of these devices in the anniversary update? (I didn't update yet.)
i'm recording 4 shows now. I'll get back with your later or tomorrow since I have to reboot to the other os then take a snapshot then reboot to this os. Update - No but it's also not shown on build 10586 (capture 3) which WMC is working. Anniversary pics are capture 1 and 2. Only problem is WMC doesn't detect the tuners during the tv setup process.
Anyone with a Ceton cablecard tumer on the new Anniversary Update and get live TV working ? So far no go here... WMC wont even see the tuner (no tuner found) even though I set the Ceton software to re-detect it.... Anyone ?
I think the consensus is that unless you're OTA the answer is no. Not clear if there will ever be a fix.
Same here. Foolishly "upgrade" the garbage POS Windows 10 to their anniversary, and WMC is gone. Tried a re-install, and nothing but errors. I restored my previous version of Windows and thought that WMC was removed as well, since my taskbar icon was a blank icon, though I right clicked the icon and it showed my WMC shortcut...phew.
Try out again using 8.6. First uninstall what you have now. Reboot. Go to your c:/programdata\microsoft\ehome and do a manual cleaning ie delete folder/s and file/s named mcepgXXX.db. Clean the logfiles. Reboot. Clean registry using CCleaner. reboot. Install WMC 8.6 as admin. Reboot. Go to WMC an do the expressetup. Say no to the licensagreement. Search channels. finnish setup. Reboot. Working?? if yes do the finetuning you want.. If no read the logfiles... Best regards ubbe
