Ah. I just read the code and saw that they call UAC too Does that still happen if they've disabled UAC? (A bad thing to do, but it can be done.)
I always install both DCA and PlayReady externally. Maybe not necessary, its just a habit now. Up in the extras inside WMC, I always thought the DCA should be the first thing you run after the first time you open WMC. Without that, TV Setup doesn't work right. Obviously you did both. How many others did? This might be their first time since Win7, or longer. On yours, you have ClearQAM working, don't you? And for anybody else reading this, these suggestions are for Cable Card Tuners using ClearQAM or EncryptedQAM NOT OTA
If you have the UAC disabled each command runs as admin by default, so the cmd should just run as intended w/o triggering anything.
So, yes, just "upgraded" from Win7 to 10, installed the new WMC, installed tuners (infiniTV4 - Comcast). I can watch live TV but cannot get the guide to successfully load. True I forgot about the DCA, I'll try that when I get home tonight, hopefully that fixes the problem.
Oh, so you do get tuners if you forget the DCA. Its been awhile since I forgot the DCA. Question for ya.....type winver into cortana.....what is your build number?
For the record the W10 LTSB 2016 was just leaked. Not that this is supposed to change anything on the DRM side. But at least you can have a crap free system to start with. (no metro apps, no market, no edge, no forced upgrades, old calculator, half disabled cortana)
have you installed wmc yet also did rollback see if it worked and have new folder windows10upgrade with lots of files can upload to anyone might think will help on 393 wmc
From what I was reading on MS site it looked like the commands might run with the user's current level and privileges. Maybe I read it wrong.
Just wanted to report that build "WMC_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v12.7z" is working great after the Win10 Anniversary update.
Pennsylvania, USA; tuner is an old ATI TV Wonder 650 that works fine in Win 7. Still can't get past the PlayReady update in Live TV setup. This is the whole process I've followed: * uninstall with Uninstaller.cmd * [reboot] * cmd.exe ➜ sfc /scannow * [reboot] * remove stray ehome files with _TestRights.cmd ➜ rd /s /q C:\Windows\ehome * Control Panel ➜ uninstall PlayReady * [reboot] * _TestRights.cmd * reinstall WMC with Installer____.cmd * install DCA with digitalcableadvisorsetup_x64.msi * install PlayReady with PlayReadyPC_x64.msi * turned off Windows Defender * open WMC and Live TV Setup which still results in Update PlayReady ➜ incomplete So DCA and PlayReady shouldn't be installed until after WMC is opened, but before running setup? Any other ideas?
Jessie: Thanks for your response. I did what you recommended, but it still does not install. I think it has something to do with testright. When I ran installer as admin, the cmd.exe opened, ran, then closed itself. But when I tried to run testright as admin, the cmd.exe opened and nothing ran.
You can use the uninstaller that is in the v8.7 package. The 8.7 package can be downloaded from T-S signature
TMT 5 (I think it was 5) never worked for me inside WMC on Win7. Same thing crashed all the time. I played around with it again in Win10 WMC v11 click the v11 in my signature to go there. I run TMT by itself on my 3D setup. Would you happen to have the list for keyboard controls?
