[DISCUSSION] Patch WMC to run on Windows 10 final & possible alternatives

A big thank you to T-S for such an excellent fix to WMC on Anniversary edition. This saved me hours and subsiquent stress.

 

this worked to get WMC to launch, still getting TUNER NOT FOUND, is the ATI TV wonder -Digital cable card tuner work under W10?

 

Could you elaborate a little? What fix?

it has the latest firmware, and it also shows with no X or ! under device manager under network adapters "ATI TV WONDER DIGITAL CABLE TUNER"

 

Type Winver. Into Cortana are you using 10586 or 14393

i downloaded the insiders preview, but didnt install it, if i cant get this to work im going to revert back to windows 8.

 

It should work in 10586.

What were the results of running the DCA?

live tv setup just gives me the
"Tuner not found
The TV signal cannot be configured because a TV tuner was not detected."

 

Install the tuner driver again then go back to WMC and set up tuner

ive yet to find a driver package for the tuner, windows installs it on its own, ive tried re-burning the firmware, doesnt change anything.

In that case you definitely got three birds with one stone.

 

None of those appear to have Cablecard, unless I missed something?

(And by that I mean the slot for a cablecard to be plugged in.)

Not sure what model that is. Even the DIAMOND ATI Theater 750 only has Clear-QAM.

 

the 650 is not the same as the DCT if you actually look at this one www ebay com/itm/ATI-TV-Wonder-DCT-Internal-Digital-Cable-Tuner-Card-/331931353899?hash=item4d48a6832b9joAAOSwuhhXU9Gp[/url] you can see the pci-e is actually just a dummy slot, and it has a USB header cable, its the exact same as that one, just in an external case.

Is it a gaurentee that the HDHR-3CC works? i could def pick one of those up, and if coax doesnt need to be ran to the computer, thats a win win.
