There are 3 ways around that that I know of. One is (hardware) with a HDMI Splitter, and the other is (software) using a product called Actual Multiple Monitors. Try the software approach first, 30 day free trial. Either of these cost about $20 Or, if you want to send your WMC to a particular screen or all screens have a look into an HDMI 4X4 Matrix Splitter. I did mine in 2013 when I got the projector. Its nice to send anything anywhere. this one costs about $100-$150
------------------- Yes, I had the lockup issue after sleep initially. Reset button didn't even work, just hard hard reboot (4-sec power switch - been awhile for that). Just yesterday, I got it working again. Here's my list of fixes, which I was going to post, but wanted to narrow it down first (which I will soon). I went into BIOS figuring some sleep mode change would help and it did, but there was also a windows update which said something about sleep mode fix, so maybe windows update fixed it, but anyway here is everything I did... -fastboot: Disabled -XHCI: Enabled -RC6: Disabled (onboard graphics low power) -USB Legacy: Disabled -ISCT: Disabled (Intel Smart Connect) -MS KB update to 10586@ 8/10? says they fixed some sleep mode issues, so maybe my changes unnecessary PS: I have Gigabyte Sniper M.5 with latest BIOS. Also, this is on Win10 Build 10586, as I have yet to get Anniversary update working with cablecard (HDR3-CC) as much of this thread is about now.
Sometimes giving the BIOS a "nudge" by re-saving the settings without even changing them can fix such issues.
Nvidia Quadro FX 3450 Phoebe, You asked me about my video adapter when I was out fishing the other day. Finally sorted all that out today. The old card Quadro 3450 had a sticker on it e-g012-05-2171(b) After looking it up, it turns out to be a HP card in a Dell. The Nvidia driver you suggested would not work on this one, as a matter of fact, none of the 10 I tried would work, however Win7 default driver worked fine. So I pulled that one out today. This card uses an additional PCie 6+2 off the power supply. maybe card no good. Grabbed a different one Quadro 570 off the shelf today nva-p588-000(b) once again appears to be a HP card with a dell sticker. The default driver in Win10 10586 works fine, and earlier today I tried the 341.44 (not sure) it was definately 34?.?? This card gets it's power from the MB slot Even though I would prefer to use the other one, it weighs about a half kilo, I'd rather have one that works. Found the problem....see Pic 3, something fried, DCA gave me an error, one of the 3-d components.
I give up. All I can get is v8 to load. Every time I try and load v12 I get the same error: Prepare... Install DISM packages... Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.14393.0 Image Version: 10.0.14393.0 Processing 1 of 1 - Adding package Microsoft-Windows-MediaCenter-Package~31bf385 6ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.9600.16384 [==========================100.0%==========================] Error: 0x800f081e The specified package is not applicable to this image. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log Installing package failed, reverting... You may reboot and try again refer to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log to find error details Press any key to exit. When I try v8.8.1 I just get the "find" is not...... Even before the Win10 Ann. update I started having trouble with v12. WOW resent all the channels, and after which I could only pick up 51 (used to be 102) of them. I get the same thing with v8 now. And some of the channels only show a blank screen. I have a homerun dual tuner in my network and a 650pcie combo in my desktop. Both NextPVR and instatv can find all channels on all three tuners. I would much rather use WMC, but I just can't seem to get anywhere with it now.
Then simplify your setup by removing the complications Reset your Win10 and don't save the files forget v12 use v8 Get rid of Next and InstaTV Get rid of the 650 for now...just use the Homerun dual Simplify
Anyone else experiencing stuttering on WMC 8.8.1? I have an HDHomeRun Extend, and am having some weird picture stuttering in 8.8.1 that I wasn't on this machine previously with v12 (which was prior to the anniversary update). I tried 4-1-1 to make sure it wasn't the 29/59 Bug. Using the HDHomeRun View app, there is no stuttering. Thoughts?
@Crash2009- Are you confirming or restating having the stuttering issue? Nope, everything is all accounted for in device manager.
I had stuttering in WMC a few weeks back and I couldn't figure out the cause and ended up having to rebuild. My initial thoughts were either a M$ update, Plex Update or a codec issue (had Skarkys codecs installed at the time). My system is running fine since the rebuild, but I'm not keen on installing the anniversary updated though!
Definitely a stutter. Flicker is color- light and dark. I don't think it's my machine, because it works well in the HDHomeRun app, which has higher processor utilization than WMC. hmmmmmmm
Might be the codec problem. I forget exactly how T-S said that. Try searching... Disable Microsoft and install lav.
At least in the US, one has to download, install and setup three pieces of software (the Kodi frontend, a PVR backend, and something the download the EPG data), whereas with the WMC is just one piece of software. I was referring to the fact that people have to create an account with "My Digital Life Forums" before they can even access the download links. Otherwise, all they see is: "You need to login to view this posts content." I don't doubt the effectiveness of this thread is providing this port of the WMC on Windows 10 and am sure it will be useful in solving both the current problems and any future problems with Windows 10 updates. I am very grateful to everyone who has contributed to this. I just don't think this thread is the right place to put the download links, at least not for the long term. This thread is so long now that new people can't be expected to read even a small fraction of it and without a FAQ it is really hard to find information, which is part of the reason people keep posting the same questions.
