If you replaced the tasks he posted a few pages ago, then you don't need to download this version. If not, you can use the Uninstaller.CMD (important!) to remove it. It removes everything.
Many thanks Not a criticism, just a heads up, "Uninstall.bat" deletes 21 tasks (Install.bat adds 23 tasks)
May I know how to fix "The MhegAddin program has stopped responding" error? @all, No luck editing MUI with french language, it doesn't work. I had to reformat 10 after applying uninstall.bat and install.bat (I confirm Windows is still activated without entering any key during installation), because WMC didn't work no more : eHome folder wasn't deleted, and when I tried to reinstall it, there was an error message (Media center already installed). After complete clean installation, I confirm that LAV filters or Klite are enough to make WMC and HDTV playing without any problem.
Interesting find, again playing around, as my install of Windows 10 is very basic, so if all else fails, I can reset it. So, I went into Programdata\Microsoft\ehome and changed permissions to everyone with full control. and in the event log, this started showing up... 9:38:42 AM - Retrieving EpgLineups. 9:38:42 AM - Processing EpgLineups. 9:38:42 AM - Processing of EpgLineups is complete. 9:38:43 AM - Errors during the last update. 9:38:43 AM - Will retry at 9/7/2015 11:04:39 AM. Last failure is 9:38:41 AM - Failed to retrieve nettv (Error: PackageName is invalid.) - I am 95% sure this is InternetTV and if so, who cares ? Note, this does not change anything at this point. Guide data does not show up, and I still get that error during TV setup... Maybe it is a permission thing ?
For those that can't get MC to even launch, try removing/deleting these files from the eHome folder: Counter.mem, MCENDIndiv.hds, mcepg3-0.db, mcepg3-1.db and mcepg3-2.db. Removing them at least works for me, and after the last reinstall I at least got the message that the Guide wouldn't update due to previous failures, so I am back to having live TV again.
Paul, The Programdata\Microsoft\ehome folder is created on First run (first time you run WMC), If you want to roll back, completely delete this folder and it should get you back to the start (the db file is WMC's database). Some other settings are stored in the registry but, over all this will kill 95% of WMC's settings and kick off First run again...
i ran abbodis installer pack but i have no indication anywhere that wmc is installed. do i also need dejongs files??
It does not create a short cut. Put this in a run command and put a shortcut to it and there you go... C:\Windows\ehome\ehshell.exe
I'm running pro, Not sure, Did it install right ? Any errors ? Did you run the _TestRights.cmd first to confirm it works like it should ? Browse in Windows Explorer, see if you can get to Windows and then see if there is a eHome folder, if it's not there, it did not install correctly or something else is going on. You ARE right clicking on the installer and selecting Run As Admin, right ? Go back about 5 pages and read, there was a discussion on other languages... that might lead you don't the road
