OK, I don't know if this helps any of you guys working on this but Microsoft broke webcams too on the anniversary update.

Was already posted here but I think the issue ha nothing to do with the CC problem.

If the problem was related, we had the WMC not working no matter the nation, instead only the US are affected.

    ;) Sounds good to me!,
Well, that was ALOT of catching up. Thats what I get for buying a house and starting to clean it up for a big move.

Thanks for the reply. The last screenshot on the link you provided is the message I get, but I don't have a DVBLogic tuner. I have a WinTV-HVR-2250 and a HDHomerun. Maybe they are the same setup. After reading posts from yesterday and today, it's probably the HD Homerun tuner on the anniversary update that's causing that.

I'm afraid you have not a clear idea about how dvblink works

Your real tuner(s) must be configured inside the dvblink setup page, then you have to configure the 8 dvblink tuners inside WMC, only them!

Obviously WMC (if installed on the same machine) will see also the real tuner, but it must left not configured, or wmc and dvblink would fight to control it.

The genius part of Dvblink is all there, given is impossible to grab the signal after, because MS didn't want a competitor to their xtenders, dvblink intercepts the signal before, and then routes it to the machine where it's installed, to your lan (including smarphones and tablets), and (if you want) over the web.

You can have your physical tuner in the US, and you can watch your TV from Australia.

The only drawback is that DVBlink doesn't support the protected contents on CC tuners (no matter the windows version)

Really? I reckon WMC is untouchable at 3m using a remote, and also quite decent with mouse/keyboard. I'm mostly a fan of how it looks (professional) and although it can be a pain to set up it's not a difficult set up.

The space bar thing is crazy, I totally agree. Presumably it's because play/pause on the remote is mapped to CTRL-S and they wanted to keep space as, well, space.

If you've got a Media Creation Tool from that era it'll still make up an old version for you, I relented today and put one of my machines back to 1511.

If you can suggest a file sharing site I don't need to sign into I'll upload the tool. From now on I'll keep a couple of USB sticks with "old" installers ready, just in case.

I'm running Win 10 Home on one particular machine so most of the easy options for disabling auto updates aren't available. I did however find this official tool which lets you hide (and not install) certain updates. I've not yet had 1607 appear but when I do I hope this will hide it...

Ah, can't post URLs. Google: kb 3073930

I don't know, it's still on the test bench running on a Sony Trinitron CRT. 411 Info says a HD channel is 1920 X 1080 Seems to look OK.

Would you mind checking something like CNN or Golf Hd (if you have them)? Want to know if 60 fps material plays smooth. :)

Wasn't impatient, just realized that I really don't need 14393. BUT - - I did restore to the older version 10585.545 and I can no longer get WMC to recognize my HDHomerun Prime Tuner. I have tried all the tricks. But it just doesn't see the tuners. I have tried both the v12 version and v8.8.1 and there is no difference. WMC starts fine, but it cannot see the tuners.

I have removed and reinstalled HDHomeRun drivers. I have re-scanned the channels and select Repair on the Advanced screen, etc...

My laptop with the same version of Windows 10 runs WMC fine and sees the tuners. This desktop also worked before I updated to 14393 and then reverted back.

    Any suggestions?

    As always, thanks in advance...

    There is no difference.

Are you wondering if the "ticker" "chugs"? It is perfectly smooth.

Sounds like your 10586 is screwed up. Did you use your image or the MS image?

I used the restore (REVERT) in windows 10 that backs out the upgrade. Same thing as those people that upgraded to windows 10 from 7 and then decided to go back to 7. Everything appears to be back but I'm thinking they didn't restore some of the things they removed in the anniversary addition

Hmmmmm. May try as the only channel that I have copy once is Hbo. Can just get using HBO GO. Was it hard to install? Also, may just wait it out on pre-Win 10AE since my v12 w/Xbox extenders works flawlessly!
