happy not te be the only one using a dumb browser more seriously: is there any chance to fix this? most of us are WMC "addict" so we know that your 8.8.1 is safe T-S , but soon, there will be some people who will get these security messages and without having read 700 pages of this thread, they will run
I downloaded 8.8.1 using IE this morning with no dramas, so not sure what could be happening there. My issue is that the xbox's won't connect after Windows decided to install some updates last night, which I can't seem to remove. It was running perfectly with two xbox's on version 12, but figured I'd give 8.8.1 a go and I have the same problem. They can see the media center, but have a connection failure every time they try to connect.. gets through the whole adding process perfectly until it gets to the last stage, then it can't find the xbox Any ideas? Version is 10586.589
same here: since this update KB3189866 of Sept 13rd, i have a new issue not about xbox, but about file association: before the update i was able to read mkv files with WMC 8.8.1 and now i can't no more, when i click on such file, nothing happens
Already discussed. #1 first of all I expect that people who want to deal with a modded program has at least the very basic knowledge needed to download a file from the internet, safely. #2 Any free cyberlocker comes with more or less aggressive ADs, datafilehost is one of the less annoying, and reading the instructions or turning on a couple of neurons is more than enough to deal with it #3 Although relatively hidden and not advertised the w8.x had thousands of downloads, so I assume no rocket science needed to get that file, and to undertand that if you expect a 70MB .7z file and you get a 2MB .exe file something went wrong #4 No need to read 700 pages, usually reading the first message, and few pages starting backward from the last message is more than enough to have the essential information, here and in any other forum's thread #5 In general the basic rule is always valid. Dumbify a procedure is good once, smartify the user(s) is good for a life.
i know that, and i really appreciate your work for WMC community as it's the only way for us to get the Media Center working since M$ sentenced it to death in a brutal way, i've read your work and your posts months ago and try to translate them in french to help community other ther, and what i said is only a suggestion with no offense
Since the Windows 10 Anniversary update broke cablecard support in WMC is there a way for me to revert to a stable 1511 image and somehow prevent updates to the anniv edition until a working WMC is available? I am not talking about only postponing the updates a few weeks or months but indefinitely. Thanks
The same here, after the update yesterday... I did a system restore into version 10586.545 (now works correctly again), until some solution is found...
The only thing that needs to be fixed is some people need to learn how to read, or maybe they need an automobile traffic safety course to find out what the colors of a traffic signal represent. In North America, green means go, and, red means stop.
Oh! relax it's the week end man. I think everyone here clearly understood that this security warning won't to be fixed, but i hope in North America as well as in Europe people car make suggestions right? peace
setting wmc to record to network giving me a head ache would it be better to try nas drive or a waste of money for wmc recording
Until the win 10 Anniversary update issue with WMC is solved, are there other Cable Card devices that can handle DRM without WMC? All these years it was Ceton + Cablecard + WMC for me. Will Homerun prime with cablecard record to PC like ceton and WMC did?
Thank you very much. The very hidden "check mark" in that was about as confusing as they could possibly make it.
