Windows 10 auto updated today wiping out my WMC install that was working perfectly. I reinstalled WMC and am getting the error that the TV signal cannot be configured because a tv tuner was not detected. Any help on this? Thanks!
Did your mouse issue go away? I am having a similar problem. I am using version 8.8.1. I have a graphics card that is outputing to two Samsung tvs. Normally whenever I would minimize, maximize or cascade the WMC window screen would go black for a sec as I assumed it was doing a resolution adjustment. I just lived with it, was not a big bother Now whenever I use the mouse and click on a control (play, skip, minimize, close - anything) in WMC, the same thing, screen goes black as if it were doing a resolution adjustment and whatever I clicked does nothing. I've tried different resolutions . Now I am on 1280 x 720. I'm also on 14926 which I know could be the issue.
Sometimes you have to change the browser resolution (zoom in.out). It did hide the checkbox in my browser. IE worked best. I could not uncheck it in Chrome.
My first post, so a big thank you to all the people that made WMC on Win10 possible. Your problem sounds similar to the one I had that I struggled with for quite a while before I finally figured it out. I installed Win 10 in July and used WMC V12. I installed the Anniversary Update and tried V8.8.1. That didn't solve it. I finally fixed it by changing the Windows Display Settings to 125% on both monitors. Both monitors are set to 1080p and my Winver is 1607 (Build 14393.0) I originally had my computer monitor at 125% and my TV at 150%. Everything worked on my monitor. My TV worked in windowed mode, but when I went full screen on my TV I could use the menus, but I had to move the mouse pointer down and to the right a couple of inches of where I actually wanted to click. I changed my TV to 100% and left my monitor at 125% for another program. I noticed that the WMC menus worked in reverse - I had to move my mouse pointer up and to the left a couple of inches to click on a menu. Also when I was playing a program in this mode, every time I clicked on the TV screen with the mouse, the TV would reset for a second and display the resolution. This is what my TV does when I change inputs etc. I'm not sure if 125% will work for everyone, or if it is just because I set up my computer monitor for 125% when I first installed Win10. Click on Settings (gear icon), System, Display, Change the size of text, etc. Hope this helps.
Your still discussing this ? WHY ? because you don't like the hosting location and that it uses 7zip ? Are you for real ? Please grow up, Download on the DEVS chosen location, and INSTALL WINRAR. If you do not like it then DONT DOWNLOAD IT. There are pages of you complaining about this, just wasting space on this server. If I was a mod here, I would have BANNED you by now... ENOUGH of this. Mods can we do something about this guy ?
Go back a couple hundred posts.....specifically start reading around August 2, 2016. Anniversary Update breaks CableCARD Tuners.
You would have to ask T-S. I would like to know this myself. Personally, the host and the format is just an inconvenience, but for others it is preventing them from enjoying the benefits of the WMC on Windows 10.
Yes, I'm running T-S's 8.8.1 This is the only version that will install on my desktop. V12 fails to install. But why does this version eventually fail with a system files modified error?
Apparently Microsoft decided to update my windows 10 automatically without my permission today, and now when I try to reinstall WMC v12 I continue to receive errors (it keeps failing). Any suggestions?
Thanks for the advice.. I read through about 50 pages and wasn't able to fix the install. No matter what I do it can't detect my HDHOMERUN PRIME tuner.
Which part of Anniversary Update breaks CableCARD Tuners did you not understand? I sent you back to August 2, so you would know what we have tried so far. Was hoping you might have some idea's.
Fu...ng Window 10 silent updates and problems reinstalling WMC with TV Tuner card My PC silently updated to Anniversary edition last night, and as you know, Windows Media Center disappeared with it. I've tried reinstalling v12 and v8.8.1 with my TV Tuner card without success. Here are my issues, with v8.8.1 : 1. Windows Media Center is unable to determine my TV signal configuration When I configure my TV signal manually, it detects my Hauppauge TV Tuner. Then : 2. Downloadable Analog TV Program Guide listings are not available in my region 3. PlayReady won't update : it downloads and installs, but later in the WMC install process, I get "The PlayReady update was incomplete. You will not be able to watch or record protected content until the update is successful". I've read through the last 50-100ish pages but could'nt find more ressources the help my solve my issues. Therefore, I turn to you, MyDigitalLife community, in the hope that you can help me. Best regards, Julien
Makes my think, there should be a "state of the situation/issues & solutions" section in the first post of the thread... Since many of of coming here to install WMC and come back months later when WMC stops working abruptly, it's easy to get out of the loop, specially when you have to scroll 100+ pages to potentially find an answer to your issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to complain, just to ease the process of finding solutions in this thread.
Unable to Re-install WMC after Windows 10 Anniversary Upgrade I upgraded my HTPC-1 to the Windows 10 Anniversary version, reinstalled Windows Media Center (WMC) and the process appeared to work as expected, but when I clicked on the Media Center icon I saw it spinning for a little while and the hard drive was being hit, but WMC never actually launched. I had it working prior to the upgrade, but even after I restored it to the previous version of Windows 10, WMC would still not launch. The crazy part is that I upgraded my other HTPC-2 and re-installed WMC with no problem...ugh! Here are the steps that I've taken so far: FYI: Install was done from WMC Patch download on this site - "My Digital Life Forums" - WMC_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v12.7z 1. Uninstall the WMC entries that were left by the windows 10 anniversary update. a) Run the _TestRights.cmd from the C:\WMC folder, b) Run Uninstaller.cmd from the C:\WMC folder. 2. Reboot after the uninstall was run 3. Run _TestRights.cmd to be sure there's nothing left behind 4. Run Installer.cmd from the C:\WMC folder - which displayed an error (see attached log file) 5. I've done a sfc /scannow, Dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth (worked), and Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth (returned errors). 6. Rebooted and repeated steps 1-4, with no success. Any assistance to help resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. UPDATE: Since I'm a newbie to this forum, I cannot post files yet. There's a sticky thread for that. Anyway just reset your settings (w 8.8.1 has a script to do that quickly)
