There is link to MDL, simple instructions instead of going through whole thread. If you run sfc and it shows you have errors, then....., No big deal there man.
The lip synch problem has gone after the latest windows 10 major update. However, I have now lost the ability to convert to dvr-ms? Go figure
After anniversary update Media center disappeared for me as well. I just read somewhere to install my movies and so I did. After installing still no media center but I installed V12 again and sure enough media center has come back. I have yet to try to install my tuner (hdhomerun 3) but I will once I get home and post my results
If you are hoping to get a Cable card HDHomerun to work with the anniversary update, you can forget it.... The last 100 pages of this thread are about the fact that Anniversary update broke cable card tuners and no solution exists as of yet
When I tried to install the v12 file, I got an error code 0x800f081e. The installation would then fail. Any suggestion on what I can do? I had previously installed (and uninstalled) WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0v2.1 with no issue. I just couldn't get the program guide.... Thanks
For X64, the ehuihlp.dll locates in two places, yet there is only the amd64 one in MediaCenter folder. It's OK because ehuihlp.dll? Code: amd64_microsoft-windows-ehome-ehuihlp_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_2cc96e8cff347d4c wow64_microsoft-windows-ehome-ehuihlp_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_371e18df33953f47
Like other people here my computer updated windows 10 yesterday and WMC disappeared. I tried re-installing it but that failed but unfortunately I failed to note the error code. I tried the installation process again and this time it stated that WMC was already installed. I clicked on the start menu and the WMC icon literally appeared back in place. However selecting it gives the error 'Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy' which also occurs if I attempt to run it as administrator. Any thoughts? Regards, Mac.
Installed the anniversary update this morning and found the same problem that others have been having, WMC was gone. In an earlier post someone suggested reverting back from the update, I did that and WMC is working for me once again. The process is pretty simple, but here's a short article on reverting: ibtimes.co.uk/how-downgrade-windows-10-anniversary-update-before-its-too-late-1574488
Thank you for this comment! I've found following this infinitely-threaded conversation to be impossible (unless I make it a full time job). My fervent wish would be somebody who actually understands and keeps up would most a similar summary EVERY 100 pages.
Set your page view to 40 posts/page. Current issues are repeated many times every 40 posts. Sometimes I go back a page or 2
Hi All, I'm trying to download V8.8.1 (to reinstall after WMC was scrubbed during update). I've found the download link back on post #5314, and I see the instructions to leave the download manager box unchecked...but when I go to download, I don't see this option and the file I download is and exe (not 7z file). Is there a way to download the file without using the download manager anymore?
I ran that silly exe in an attempt to get v8.8.1 and it asks you to install a bunch of adware and spyware. There is no checkbox to go around the downloader either. So I went thru all the screens and at the end it downloads a 3kb file. Totally useless. Can someone post a real link to 8.8.1? That anniversary update was quite a present for us.
