Danke AFAIK no, HDHR works, Ceton does not Or dvblink server on a real W7 machine, dvblinkclient/WMC on W10 VM (or viceversa, depending how powerful is the machine taken in account)
I am having problems with getting Windows Media Centre to work on W10 Anniversary Update. I have tried your download but simply get the error message: 0x800f0922 then DSIM failed after image version 10.0.14393.0 is loaded . No operation was performed. And I am then referred to CBS and DSIM Logs. I have tried uninstalling from the WMC64 folder and rebooting. Nothing works. I am getting very frustrated. What might I be doing wrong.
7345 posts so far.. this is amazing work. I just attended Microsoft Ignite and I brought the fact that there are so many of us that STILL want Windows Media Center as part of the OS to their attention. I spoke with 4 different Microsoft Developers on the Microsoft Showcase Expo Floor who work directly for the Windows 10 development Team. Unfortunately I can't speak to anything regarding how we have hacked / pulled a copy of WMC out of 8.1 and successfully installed on 10 nor how the Anniversary update broke it. But I did speak to private development work and the fact that WMC was the only product on my marked left that was able to decrypt protected content from the cable companies utilizing cable card tuners. Their only response was always the same.. "We are not currently pursuing and contributing funds towards Media Center at this time." I yelled and argued that they are contributing the the Cable monopoly for companies like Scientific Atlantic and other cable box top manufacturers. With that being said.. i have never posted (7000+ posts you'll forgive me i forgot i have posted) but i want to say that i am a user of your fine work and i very much so appreciate everything this group has done for myself and my family. Please continue your hard work and keep the first post updated with any information regarding the "Anniversary update".. I await any updates. On a side note, I did ditch my InfiniTV 6 ETH for the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime. Even though it is 3 tuners less, I find that it is way less glitchy and more reliable than the ceton device, easier to configure and more stable. I have had the Ceton for 4 years.. the HDHomeRun for about 4 months and its NIGHT and DAY. I'm not sure what else i can contribute to this group. I feel way under qualified to post anything technical. So thats my 2 cents. I hope it was helpful.
Low request and a lot of (relatively easy but boring) work. A work that everyone can do given nothing is obfuscated in the 8.8.1 installer. Perhaps some donations would turn on some motivations, but ano one has ever offered a bier to me ansd, afaik Abbodi and the other people who worked to this project, as usual asking and taking is easy, giving is not.
is installing the v12 32 bit package on a win 10 32bit install the easiest way to get all the needed files? I guess the MUI part would have to be edited not to delete other languages so all files would be there. I don't have a win 10 32 bit install to test, guess I could fire up a VM if it was really needed, but for now I guess 32 bit folks try v12, if not try installing win 10 64 bit, or go back to win 7. I'm more interested in xbox 360 as extenders though. Still haven't gotten that back to working on anniversary, but works on 10586.420
Malicious Website warning!!! V8.8.1 minor update [12/08/2016 I get a "Malicious Website" Warning when I try to download this.
Does the HDHomeRun do the DRM thing outside of WMC? Does it function in Windows 10? If so with what software?
I think I shared that link some time ago. (it's one year old, but hardly something is changed in the meantime)
This is literally Microsoft's excuse for pulling WMC...the irony! Come on dude, you're doing god's work!
This is not an excuse. This is the reality you can check yourself looking to how many people asked for the 32 bit version here. No one is preventing you to adjust the paths and fix the already made script. For me, working to the 32 bit version would be installing a 32bit OS, installing the v12, patching the rdp files from scratch, possibly reinstalling win 10 to check the behavior on a fresh install and so on. It's days of work, days of work that most of you paid do MS w/o a blink but you don't mind to pay even as a very small donation to me or every one else worked to this project here. So start to offer me a bier, then say "come on!".
lol, I would be interested in donating 50 dollars or so for more work towards working ceton cards/network tuning for windows 10. : D
Guys doesn't work this way. Donations are donations, not payments, not salaries, people who donate does it to tanks for the work already done and to stimulate a further work. Program working first, money after, is something different. It's meant for professionals working on original SW. Something which isn't applicable here.
