Well that could be mentioned in the file name and readme to avoid confusion. EDIT: I can see that the file name had "x64" in it at some point, but it's really hard to follow this thread.
WMC is a system package, it's like updates and updates need/use DISM tool which service the package and install it and DISM check the package version/integrity.. it won't accept any package that its version don't match system version trying to replicate/copycat dism steps manually, will also need Trusted Installer "shenanigans" btw, the current installer is following dism steps
Just to be clear I wasn't trying to be critical, just throwing out other ideas. I know the current installer is using DISM but that's really only in that the package files are stored in a WIM image. It isn't actually using DISM to install the files, just to store/unpack them, right? Regardless of the version (since Vista) the various windows features are defined somewhere within the OS so that DISM knows what files to copy, what registry setting to modify etc. Since the hurdles have mostly been overcome in getting WMC to run on Windows 10 I just thought it might be possible to find what files define the various packages/features and modify them so that Win10 thinks WMC is a valid package. I realize that doing that is not necessarily a simple task, but neither is patching other resource files to work on Win10 and some very clever folks have managed that so far.
Followed these (post #361) instruction and when I try and launch Media Center it says "this app can't run on your PC. Not sure what I have done wrong
Great job guys I have it working on a pc and a in VMware on a Mac. I have had luck with a hauppauge tuner and was able to scan all the channels on the pc. I also have a Kworld AF9015 usb tuner which worked fine in win 7 and win 8 but not in win 10. I initially installed it on the pc running win 10 but I kept on getting a blue screen at the 50% mark of the channel scan. So I installed it in VMware on the Mac and the same blue screen at the same 50% mark kernel security check failure Is there something that can be done or fixed?
Those of you that claim your Guide Data is working, do you live in the USA or not? Just wondering if there's a significance to that.
guide data is working from what I can see for people who's guide gets pulled down with the TV Signal. Americans get their guide from Microsoft as a download, that's where the problem is. Guide works flawlessly for people getting it from their TV signal.
hi, I installed the patch WMC (Administrator) all is OK, I rebooted but or is the WMC application. I have WINDOWS 10 pro 10.0.10240.16384. help me please. WIKI
@chantzshim, I used Win7 files to edit en-US .mui : - Reshack to copy/paste Strings from french Win 7 files to the US files (content is the same from Win 7 to 8.1) - HexEdit to edit MUI from en-US to fr-FR as you showed me These programs are freewares, so people who don't find their language in the list can edit their own file if they have WMC from Windows 7 or 8.1. It's not difficult to do, only 17 files to edit.
do you mean you cant find wmc application after a reboot?? if so its in the start menu, it will show under Windows Accessories folder (besides Internet Explorer)
I have to be honest, I don't understand your problem at all. Others might be in the same boat. I suspect a language barrier? Post a screen shot of the problem you're having. If you can't find the WMC Link, check under Windows Accessories.
Thanks to the people who got this working. It works excellent for me on Build 10532. TV guide works for me since I'm from Australia and the tv guide comes from the tv stations.
