Ugh. If it's not one thing, it's another. Can someone help me? My TV Tuner is working well and it's up to date but WMC is now saying this "No tuner available to satisfy the current request. Thanks.
I would highly encourage everyone to just bite the bullet and install LTSB 2015. Microsoft seems active in terms of stopping the use of WMC in Windows 10, and SiliconDust have no interest in supporting Windows 10 natively. In fact, their newest Beta drivers did not work on LTSB when I tried them, but WMC started working immediately when I rolled back to their latest non-beta. Since downgrading from Pro to LTSB, I have missed no features from 1511, and possibly the only thing I'm missing that I do somewhat care about is the Metro Netflix app. It's a small price to pay to get WMC working, however.
I bit the bullet too and looked into LTSB, but as others say, why not keep Win 10 Pro and just disable Windows Update Service so nothing feature wise or Security Update wise could kill WMC? Apparently with update disabled, nothing can be forced on you as an update. Then on a need to basis you just download what you need once it is proven it won't kill WMC?
Same thing happened to me sometime overnight Sunday. If you have the SD HDHR Prime CC Tuner and the beta Windows 10 software, try uninstalling and reinstalling the hdhomerun_windows_20150826.exe file. That fixed for me without doing anything else. Windows 10 Pro 1511 - 10586.589 WMC V12 Blocking Anniversary Update Uninstalled update KB3192441 Edit: Sorry this in response to prettyjoey08.
Thanks but i don't have that tuner. Mines Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 I Uninstalled update KB3192441 and still nothing. Edit: Thanks for help. It's working now.
Running Windows 10 1607 build 14931 I need help, cause I installed Windows Media Center and when I try to start it I get a 0xe0434352 error (unknown software exception). Can anybody tell me the steps to follow right now?
Thanks I'll take a look. I'm sure I've set the onboard graphics to low power but I'll double check. The hardware I'm using is a few years old now to so not sure if there's a compatibility thing happening. Seriously close to restoring Win7. This has only just started happening recently and with more frequency, and you're right it freezes hard and I have to reset the box. I've never waited to see if it resolves itself have you? So I hibernated my WMC, but I changed to sleep to see if that made a difference and it doesn't, the box froze last night after about 15 minutes, with me having to hard reset.
And is it possible to do so losing only modern apps, retaining all regular apps and games? My PC runs Win10x64 pro, pre-anniversary (=1511) with KB3192441 never installed & hidden. Upgrades deferred 8 months.
Downgrade was figurative, not literal. You'll need to install LTSB clean. Edit: In addition, there is a way to keep Metro apps on 2015 LTSB, that I only read about after the fact. Basically you install Win 10 Enterprise 10240, then do an in-place upgrade from that to Win 10 LTSB 10240. Apparently, doing this keeps the Store and lets you install Metro apps, but removes everything else you'd expect in LTSB.
What are some alternatives you found? I think many who own a CETON tuner want to continue using that instead of buying another tuner that supports CableCard. Thank you!
He is from Thailand, he didn't had any idea of what a Cable Card is, anyway that message is almost two years old, was posted way before a solution for WMC on w10 was available.
The last update says there is no solution to get WMC working on Anniversary Update as of 9/24/16. Do you know if there a workaround now? I just got home from working on the road. Thank you!
A partial solution, for HDHR users is DVBlink, but it's unable to manage protected contents in the US. No solution at all for Ceton owners.

Just to throw in my hat, I had been using Windows Media Center (WMC) + ServerWMC + Kodi on Win7 for quite some time, happily utilizing a Ceton Infinitv 4 + CableCard hardware, and was successfully able to switch to Win10 earlier this year. The anniversary update seemed to have completely uninstall WMC and broken this setup. Through fiddling, I was able to get the Ceton drivers working and it passes tests up to the point where it effectively that WMC is required. The WindowsMediaCenter_10....v2.1 port that I had fails to work, although I was able to fiddle with it to get most of the installation to complete (ehome directory created), but the WMC app itself fails to run. The Windows Event Viewer reports the error to be in some initialization step which I will try and post later if anyone is interested. While I was a little happy to see that much of WMC is NetFx (I'm a C# developer), without the code, the error message given does nothing to help find a next step.
This is old as Noah, use the V12 or V8.8.1, keep in mind that Ceton card doesn't work on W10 anniversary.
Most certainly, but I couldn't find a working link to the newer 1 yet and this thread seemed to indicate that none worked, so I just went to bed Regarding Ceton, it would look like the card is working fine, it just can't find the WMC service that it requires. This is puzzling me a little, when you say Ceton doesn't work on W10 anniversary, what particular issue do people see?
