Thank you for this suggestion and I'm happy that it works for you. I tried it with a new installation of an Insider Preview (red stone) 14931 build. After installing and all updates applied I installed v12 of the WMC patch, then installed the HDHr3-CC tuners. Unfortunately it still does not see the tuners. If this technique is applicable to updated 15068 builds I'll give it a trial later. Added Note: Steps I have taken: Formatted new partition and installed new 10586. Let it update to latest KB3198586 and KB3150513. Installed WMC patch v12. Installed Updated HDHR3-CC drivers from Silicon Dust. Rebooted. Tried WMC setup---Tuner Not Found. If I missed something during this please advise me of a better procedure.
Sorry, I'm only interested in the "as it used to be" workings of WMC. I still have 10586 without the "updates" working as it used to so unless it is working with the red stone versions, I'll just keep it this way. Thank you for your interest and investment in your time.
Ive tried setting up WMC v8.8.1 and v11 on Windows 10 LTSB 2015 and can get WMC to see the tuner and even get the guide update but when trying to view a channel it will sit with the spinning circle for sometime before going to a blank blue screen. I'm using a HDHomerun Prime and this is over wireless. The weird thing is I'm able to view channels with the hd homerun app and even through Kodi.
I started getting the Tuner Not Found error after the latest MS Cumulative Security Update 3198586. I tried reinstalling the HD HR drivers and the various fixes for this problem listed on the Silicon Dust HD HR forums. Nothing worked for me until I uninstalled update 3198586, and then magically, my tuners were recognized by WMC again. Evidently the same fix in the last security update that broke Windows Media Center is present in the new security update.
It's a cumulative update. It includes the upgrades released previously. So yes It inclundes the one who broke WMC as well
Can you tell us what version of Windows 10 you have? If you have the anniversary edition, or the latest updates, you will have this issue. You may need to roll back.
Did you click okay then try it again. This happens to me every time I update a new build. I uninstall, reinstall, when it comes to setup my Live TV, it always says TV Tuner not found, I click okay, then start TV Setup again.Takes me right thru it
^^^...and...if your CableCard channels are Non-Protected, DVBLink Server will enable WMC to "find" the HDHR tuner in Win10-14393. DRM Channels will not work though.
Hello everyone New to this site after finally finding the option to install WMC on windows 10 Home. (Primary use was Win 7 & 8.1). I am happy to report that I am now able to play recordings made over the past five years...It's going to be a late night! I have not tried to set up PCTV USB tuner.
