WMC working great, thanks to all the contributed members. Only the television part doesn't work for me. I have Anysee E30TCplus - DVB-T/DVB-C tuners, did anyone have experience with this tuners and Win10 MC?
Will it be possible for the installer to add "Media Center.lnk=@%systemroot%\ehome\ehres.dll,-100" to the desktop.ini in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories?
So, do you have an installer from Windows 7 ready to install ? I would almost bet this would solve guide issues in the US... If you saw my threads, I even installed a VM of 10 build 10074 and tested and guide data did not work on that build. So, 7 or 8.1 build I think would solve everyone's problem (esp in the US).... Thanks, plz post what you have when your ready.
Well the lazy version needs a single file ehres.dll.mui. Having it means having 99% of the UI translated.
I also have plenty of isos, I have every flavor of Windows 7 and 8.1 with WMC. The question is how to rip the WMC packages and do what needs to be done to get them running on Windows 10... WIndows 7 or 8.1 is fine... It's a problem with the Windows 10 builds for guide data in the US....
I am still trying to to have the TV guide to work (using HDHOmerun Prime (USA)) under WMC (planning to re-create a fresh install again with the latest files available), I also have a NextPVR VM machine that I use just for extra recording only, with it I use zap2xml to grab the TV guide for the recording and it works great, is it possible to use the same zap2xml xml file created and use it under WMC somehow so it does not try to get it from MS? I think that will solve the TV guide problem for now.
I had that before in first installer (without patched files) but that somehow led to corrupt desktop.ini, specially when uninstalling then reinstalling well need somework to get it removed properly upon uninstalling
Having the w7 version would be nice to make it running on Windows home Servers and Enterprise Versions, rather than the EPG problem that can be workarounded in other ways
As I wrote earlier just use Epgcollector to import xml files coming from various sources. The most obvious is mc2xml (it grabs the MS listings just like WMC does)
Thanks, I will look the post about s about Epgcollector (did not hear about it before).. fyi - mc2xml does not work anymore in USA, MS changed setting and the free version does not work anymore, I used to use it until a couple of months ago and had to change to zap2xml witch works great.. quote from mc2xml site:
