Hello all, first forgive me to not reading all 776 pages (it's too much if you can agree, but did search tho, without resolution) second, i have problem and will elaborate. Hope someone can help me. 1. Have two similar hardware on two PCs. Both with windows 10 x64 with leadtek winfast dv1800 tv cards (hybrid DTV+Analog) 2. On desktop I did upgrade from win x64 8.1 WMC to Win10Pro, then installed WMC and EVERYTHING is working as should 3. On HTPC was win8.1 x86 WMC, didn't did upgrade, but instead did clean install of Win10 x64 Pro. Installed WMC, but TV is not working, nor digital nor analog. Setup found no digital programs and found some analog, but no picture or sound showing. 4. I already did all resets, upgrades of WMC. Tried all versions and no luck . 5. Installed/deinstalled DCA, PlayReady, LAV codecs, DVD PLayer... Thanks in advance...
I tried to hook up a large screen to my already working Win10 Pro PC running V1511 and WMC 12 and started getting display driver errors. I disconnected the big screen and got the same errors still. Re-ran tv setup and it started working but would give me black screens on channel changes that only a reboot would fix. Video drivers were working fine before attempting the big screen. Now I have no guide and get update successful but guide shows no data and wants me to update again.... And black screen with sound happens almost after every channel change Update: Taskbar WMC icon says "update successful" but WMC itself says "Download error, check log" I have also done the things from the workaround text file
Awesome. Thanks. Found it. Only trouble is I can't for the life of met get to install the latest v12 x86 any more. An older v12 version from Sept 2015 works but has the known issues re not recording and crashing when skipping back. The only failure references I could find from the dism log file are these: 2017-02-06 22:24:10, Warning DISM DISM OS Provider: PID=1316 TID=7644 Unable to set the DLL search path to the servicing stack folder. C:\Windows may not point to a valid Windows folder. - CDISMOSServiceManager::Final_OnConnect 2017-02-06 22:24:10, Info DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=1316 TID=7644 Attempting to initialize the logger from the Image Session. - CDISMProviderStore::Final_OnConnect 2017-02-06 22:24:40, Info DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=4612 TID=8100 Failed to get and initialize the PE Provider. Tried all the usual. Uninstall. TestRights. Disable antivirus. Heaps of Restarts. Reset settings etc. No Luck. Does anybody of you wonderful people out there have any idea of what I could try next? I stick with it: Of all alternatives I have tried, nothing beats WMC for watching recorded TV. That's why I am fighting so hard to get it back.
Dozkiwi, I ran into a similar issue with one of my systems and the v12 branch, nothing I did would ever get WMC to install. That system was upgraded from Windows 8.1 x64 (not x86), and in the end I moved to the 8.x branch and it's worked great. Unfortunately the only solution I think would have gotten v12 working on my system was a full Windows reinstall, something was just messed up in the installer systems and no amount of mucking around with DISM in Powershell or the registry would fix it (I work in IT so I did try). I spent hours before I finally gave up on v12 when v8 came out and I got it working first try (well getting the Guide to move to ROVI is a PITA but eventually I found a zip code to get it working). Other posters on here had similar issues with DISM, and we all came to the same results... reinstall was/is the only viable option unless you're a Windows guru like T-S .
No, its not a driver problem. Because there are same driver on both PCs. Another try i did was to switch cards, even i borrowed simple analog tv card and it worked on desktop, but not on htpc
Seans WMC backup will save your series if you are using Rovi. afaik, Seans backup doesn't work with EPG123. I always thought WMC had a hard time with display port. I thought it didn't work at all. On the GTX, are you using the two DVI and one HDMI for the 3 monitors, and now you are trying the DP for the forth. Maybe someone else can explain why WMC wont cooperate.
Infinitv 6 PCI-e card not recognized by MCE on Win 10 Hi, I have a Ceton InfinitTV 6 cablecard PCI-E tuner I'm trying to get recognized by WMC which I have successfully installed into Windows 10 1607 fresh upgrade from Win 8.1. I am able to watch live TV using NextPVR Application so my tuner card is functioning but WMC just fails to see it to use it. Anyone know how to get it recognized??? Thank you
