@WGMaker, one more tip(as i just had to do that myself) after you deleted your DD devices and rebooted wmc should see your tuners but before you can view protected channels check C:\Program Files\DigitalDevices\DVB-Utils\DDControlCenter.exe, Common Interface assignment and enable Alphacrypt, reboot again.

    Hello WMC enthusiasts.

I am new to this forum and thread. I have been using WMC since 2005. Like you, I've haven't found an equivalent replacement. I'm in a situation where I must run Win 10. I've tried reading this entire thread, but it has grown beyond my time capacity. Can someone give me the highlights of the best routes to run WMC on Win 10? Thank you in advance.

What type of tuner do you have?

Anyone have this working on creator update? Mine was fine until I installed now just says no tuner available when I try to watch or record OTA with either of my tuners

When you decided to install CU, WMC was totally disconnected from the OS. You might get lucky by installing the tuner driver. Likely you should get familiar with the entire process.....as I recall this CU/WMC problem has been explained 20 times in the last 3 weeks, and 100's of times since the AU update (August 2016) Go back to April 10, 2017 and start reading, you will see what I mean.....

I did do the reinstall after creators update as well as the tuner drivers. MCE installs fine, scans all the channels and works just as usual but when you go to record something from OTA or try to watch live vai TV both Tuners (one avermedia the other kworld) MCE comes back with a screen " Tuner error, The tuner is not ready or has encountered an error" Any help??

Question for the expert (Crash that is)

I built a stanadalone HTPC Media center rig based on Windows LTSB 2015

This rig will be for HTPC purposes only, nothing else.

After using WMC 11.7 and everything working all of a sudden some system updates were downloaded which broke WMC. It even downloads KB4015221 with defer updates checked off.

I thought LTSB was a safe version that did not download anything automatically unlike other editions.

I then reformatted HD and loaded everything and turned off and disabled Windows update.

By disabling windows update does that block redownloading playready or channel data ?

Also, is there a link where I can download playready if Media Center calls for it and won't download and install it?

Lastly and probably most important, I made a backup of a successful LTSB/WMC install.

Later on I reinstalled from that backup image and WMC would not function as it had playready errors.

Should this happen when restored from a backup?

    Getting frustrated LOL

    Thanks !!

New motherboard Gigabyte H170M-DS3H SSD hd, 16 gig ram Windows LTSB 2015, playready issues not allowing for DRM. WMC 11_7 and even tried on a fresh install with the latest DISM package, same playready issue

Why< all of a sudden playready issues?

The N editions of Windows 7 do not include the Digital Rights Management (DRM) components needed for protected TV content to work, even if Windows Media Player is installed. As a result, using InfiniTV with Windows 7 N edition is not supported.

Is windows LTSB 2015 considered an "N" edition.

Does anybody here have LTSB and a cablecard and able to watch protected content?

I have HD HomeRun Primes and was unable to get the tuner to be recognized on Creator or previous 1607 build. I tried both v8 and 12 and still no go. but what was strange I could play the channels on the Windows Media Player, also the HD VEIW software was functional.

***EDIT***** Perhaps the solution I found to my own problem can help others.

My problem was solved because I discovered my software clock was several hours back of the hardware clock. This played havoc with playready. When I had clocks in sync before WMC install, all went well.

Frustration level through the roof LOL

    New HTPC build
    MB Gigabyte H170-DS3H
    CPU i5-6500
    Ram 16GB
    HD Samsung EVO1TB SSD
    WMC 11_7
Ceton infini 6 tuner card firmware 14.10.3.163/6252

VideoCard Radeon 6000 series replacing Intel HD 530 integrated

All components of WMC installed including playready without a problem

Only broadcast channels are visible. See attached photos for errors when tuning premiums

I took the ceton infini with the cable card back to its former PC, it works PERFECTLY

    Any help appreciated. cc2.JPG copy.JPG

OK, so I've been running WMC on Win 10 Pro with updates turned off for a while now and it works fine. But I'd really like to get security updates back on again, so considering going to LTSB 2015. I've read through everything I can find on how to get an ISO but cannot for the life of me figure it out. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've looked at the ESD repository thread that Jessie pointed to several pages back but don't understand which version to get or how to install. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Where did you get your LTSB 2015 iso? Did you convert from an ESD file (repository linked by jessie earlier in this thread) and if so which one? I think I now understand how to convert ESDs but struggling to understand which file or files to download. Can you help? Thanks!
