Yeah, I was freaking out again too as scheduled recordings were failing to go off. The gap between win10 updates is just long enough that I forget that you have to launch the installer from the window that testrights opens up, grr.
Don't bother my friend. I upgraded yesterday to the latest version of windows my host but I had uninstalled WMC before and installed it again after the upgrade and it works like a charm. I suppose that the issue has to do with VMware tools. So I have to wait for an update of VMware tools to see if the problem persists.
Is the guide working for anyone else? I always get "download failure" when trying to download the guide when setting up live tv. I've tried several different versions and currently trying 8.8.1 with no luck either. I'm running Windows 10 pro x64 build 15063.483 and using a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1255. It's become really frusting and almost makes me want to use Windows 7 which isn't an option :/
Trust me, just bite the bullet and go with EPG123 and a Schedules Direct subscription ($25 per year). You won't regret it, and all your guide issues are over.
I took your advice after trying to figure out why I couldnt get new schedule data anymore and starting to pull my hair out! I just signed up for the 7 day trial and after an hour or two of work that what was probably medium difficulty (or at least many annoying steps) to get it in place, I am about 97% sure it was worth it and I am going to love it and will happily cough up the $25 to be headache free. And I had no idea how much it could actually improve the whole wmc experience with better data and logos and images etc. Its like a whole new world in there. Thanks for the advice!
The official WMC EPG data feed stopped working several days ago. Join the queue of people complaining about it at Microsoft Connect Feedback ID 3138806 (sorry I don't have permission to post the link). This is getting beyond a joke..............
We haven't had anything since the 14th July in Europe and as per usual, we have heard nothing from Microsoft.
Makes a big difference doesn't it? For even better station logos, take a look at My Channel Logos from the same people that produce Tuner Salad. I think MCL download is offline right now due to owner on vacation or something, but should be back soon. MCL does cost a small fee, but it's only like $5 or something like that, just a one-time fee. You get larger logos (if you want) and can add your own custom logos pretty easily. I really like it.
The "t" in dvbt2 represents terrestrial,,,we call that OTA in USA. What does the "2" represent ? Dvb-t should work on 2016 ltsb. We had to use 2015 ltsb for cable cards in the USA.
Hi crash, the 2 is the newer standard, hd. No channels are encrypted either. Thanks. I will give it a go on a test machine.
anyone else having the issue that after the creators update, the screensaver won´t kick in during music playback? manual start from commandline and without music it works fine
In Europe DVB-T2 is the standard for OTA digital television which use a narrower frequency and HEVC codec for transmission in order to have more channel on the same band (I'm no expert, that is what I know). It's the second iteration of DVB-T most country are using here.
HEVC, that's the H.265. We are having a little trouble with H.264 over here. USA Drm H.264 channel plays fine until the end of the movie, then it appears the CableCARD reauthorizes the next movie (guessing) Then display driver failure display driver recovers next movie starts to play a little bit but it stutters, eventually the stuttering results in WMC error,,, files needed to display video are either not installed or not working.... restart WMC gets everything working again. So far the failure at the end of the movie has been unpredictable sometimes it'll Play movie after movie after movie all day long with no problem. I ran the advanced logging in the Ceton diagnostics. After reviewing the files all I can see in there is my display driver has a problem.. further research suggest my display driver is having trouble with the new version of hdcp.
