That is why @dhjohns directed you to the WMC thread. Those who post there know about this stuff and will probably be able to help you.
I cannot get either of those to remain "Disabled" They keep going back to "Manual" after a reboot Any ideas how to stop this? I have turned updates to "Prompt Me" so they are not installed automatically but every few days I get a prompt that there are updates. How do you stop the Prompt from even coming up?
I am having the same problem... Win 10 x64 on Intel i7 box. my Media Center will not start up. Icon is still there on the task bar and right clicking brings up all the usual choices. Ran the WMC installer for the version I downloaded a couple years ago and it says "already installed". I did go into control panel and re-associate video playback to Media Player instead of Movies and TV, but Media Center still refuses to run. I hate to have to uninstall and reinstall since I did not back up my settings, but I will if I have to. It will be a whole new learning curve since it's been a while. Is the latest build back in the first post to this thread? OK, I see lots of references to try to "reset your settings" but I've not yet found a single post that says just exactly what and how to do that. Still looking....
I even unable to install it now, when I update the win10 to 1703, the error code: 0x800f0922, may need to waiting for the author to fix these problems. before the updates, I can only choose to give up.
I wrote like 10 times in the last day. Click on the damn reset settings script (or launch the stock windows media center recovery task) If you're all becoming blind, possibly, a not working TV would be a good thing to have?
There is nothing to fix in the installer If you still have problems after a correct install/uninstall procedure, you have a broken windows installation (possivbly because you have used the v12 instead of v8.8.1) Try to fix it using the usual sfc /scannow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Obviously uninstall WMC before and reinstall after the above. If everything still fails, just do an inplace upgrade
Are you the author?what steps did you said I have done and repaired it. I have just tried to install it, although the successful installation this time, but still can not to start it.
You still ask questions w/o providing answers. Follow what i suggested or just give up, as you wrote above.
The problem is can not to start up it now, but you did not give me a solution. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth These steps I have done.
as I wrote above.I have update the win10 to 1703,It is the latest, but without any help. Obviously wrong, now is not the installation of the problem, but the problem of start. net framework 3.5 is the system comes with. net framework 3.5 has been successfully installed on my computer. I have successfully installed WMC.
Ok. Looks your purpose is just trolling, so this is my final reply to your messages. I gave you a link about YOUR problem, which has nothing to do with WMC itself, and btw was mainly intended as an example about how a professional companies provides "solutions".
I have said above, “Are you the author?what steps did you said I have done and repaired it. I have just tried to install it, although the successful installation this time, but still can not to start it.” but you did not pay attention to it.
