did microsoft completely shut-down the tv-guide download? I am unable to download it anymore... Or is just the windows firewall blocking everything... What are the executable to unblock on the firewall? mcpudate?
I just use Workgroup for file sharing, I used to use homegroup all the time but I have a few Win 7 Computers, One Win 8 and Four Win 10, I just use Microsoft's sync Toy 2.1, and when I new show records all my PC's have it in their Public Recorded TV Folder
I would have problems sharing sometimes with Win 10 and Win 7, NBD about the HomeGroup for me as I was just sharing my TV Folder, sync toy works for my needs
Win 7 supports both Home Group and Work Group. To imply that Home Group is the only choice, is incorrect?
Hi all, Hope someone can help as I’m running out of ideas. I have had media center running great for months on Windows 10, then the fall creators update Build 1709 got pushed out and media center completely broke, it was removed from the system from the update. I then have tried to install the latest version of media center, I have tried the version 12 installers and the version 8.8.1 installers (seem to have more luck with the version 8 ones). Between installs I have made sure I have run the cleanup scripts bundled with the versions and done full reboots. Now I have media center running and can configure it all, tuners/TV work correctly e.t.c, but it will NOT RUN IN FULL SCREEN MODE, the interface menus freeze on the screen, but if I alt-tab between applications, I can see it is still media center responding. So it’s not media center freezing, it’s just the interface/menus/graphics freeze. If I run media center in a window, it works 100%, no interface freezing. This points to a graphics issue, so I have gone to the Intel site and downloaded all the latest graphics drivers for my on-board graphic chip. It still freeze when in full screen mode. I’m running out of ideas now?

Anyone else wake up to Windows 10 ask when you would like to install your new updates while having your update services stopped? 4chan confirmed it (thread 63838595). It just updated my HTPC to 1709 (16299.125) and now when I attempt to open Media Center nothing happens. I've got a Hauppauge Xbox usb TV Tuner card (was working like a champ), curious are others having luck running uninstall scripts and reinstalling MCE and are others able to use tv tuner cards @ this level? Or should I once again attempt to rollback and hope Microsoft doesn't push anymore updates down my throat?!
Can nobody else get the program guide to work? It just freezes halfway through when attempting to download it. I'm using 1709.
Folks Like other here I've been hit with the founder update...it killed WMC. I was running 8.8.1 which was working well....the icons are there but it won't load. What is the best advice to get it functional again? Apologies if this has already been covered...if it has, please just list the post number.
My WMC was killed by the Win 10 fall update. i uninstalled 8.8.1, then reinstalled, and tried v12, In both cases the WMC UI would load but was unresponsive. The fix here sorted it for me: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ible-alternatives.61061/page-425#post-1389238
