@NEMEO your focus assist tweak has helped with the delay when going to full screen (and back) - thanks.
Hello, I I am trying to get WMC on my newly acquired Kaby Lake 7100U htpc so that I can replace my older htpc which has WMC + Kodi. The goal is for Kodi to be the 4K/UHD/HDR player and WMC is the legacy app. I first tried windows 7 on it and everything but Audio worked. The Intel drivers that were modified to install on win 7 did not enable digital audio. Then, I went the Win 10 route, I installed Win 10 Enterprise 1511 LTSB. Got WMC_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v12. Installed it with no problems. Seems to run but it won't find the HDHomerun tuners. Also, there's no playready cable advisor in the extras. Any ideas guys? So close. p.s. I tried this: "If WMC does not find any tuners (HDHomerun): restart the system then put the system in sleep state and then wake it back up" already
This gets me as far as playing a recorded TV program. I get the codec blurb. I used the links provided by ricktendo64.
Yeah, I use a Core2 DUO E6850 with 4 GB of RAM and it's happy recording 4 simultaneous 15 mbps streams and playing another one back at the same time. Plugging multi-terabyte drives into it isn't straight forward (had to get an adapter) but that's probably more the fact that it's a Dell box than anything else. I wouldn't want to use it as a desktop as it can start whacking the page file pretty hard but as a dedicated server it's more than enough. For reference it's Intel Inside idiocy sticker recommends Windows Vista...
Try the 8.8.1 alternative branch, I have it running with 2 HDHomeRun DUAL US tuners with no problems. Gave up on v12 long ago.
Hi all I'm don't know what's happened. WMC was working fine but now I have no audio at all. I don't know what I did. the picture is fine but it's like this is on mute, but it's not. Audio from other apps like Plex, VLC etc works fine. I've removed and reinstalled WMC but the same thing. Help.
Ah, yeah, no cablecard here. Well, aside from the copious replies from people trying various things to get cablecard in all it's various incarnations working I believe you're pretty much looking at using some non-win10 version of the OS, can't recall if 1511 is early enough to have not had the cablecard security busted or not. It's possible you may be able to install v12 over 8.8.1 and get a functioning install out of it, had it happen a number of times to me where one version would be busted and either installing the other over it or uninstalling it and immediately reapplying the other wound up with something quite different than just a pure install of either. But you might be looking at win8.
Try reinstalling your hdhomerun software. Also, I'm assuming updates are completely disabled and you did not allow any updates through already. If you did, you may very well have a cumulative update tripping you up.
Just installed latest Microsoft update for 1803 - KB4284848 (OS Build 17134.137). Looking at the support details I got quite excited when I saw this under 'Improvements and Fixes': Addresses an issue where media content previously generated by Media Center doesn't play after installing the Windows 10 April 2018 update. However, the msvidctl.dll was not updated. Looking at the Microsoft list of files in the update, there should be a new version of msvidctl.dll (version 6.5.17134.112) but it was not installed. I downloaded the stand alone update and, having unpacked it, searched for the msvidctl.dll file - it wasn't there. For now I will stick with the fix of using the older 1709 version of msvidctl.dll, but it looks like Microsoft may (slowly) be correcting the problem.
I also use a bunch of the plugins like Netflix, prime and I have native blueray playback with cyberlink but 6G would prob run it as well
