Also if I uninstall Windows Media Center, will I keep the Windows DVD Player?
Hello, I am using the latest alternate installer on build 17134, with a Ceton InfinitiTV 4 PCI card. I can't get Media center to recognize it. I have the drivers installed, and I have reinstalled them several times. Is there any way to fix this? (Edit: I am trying this on a Windows 10 PC over the network. The Ceton drivers recognize the remote tuner card. The same problem happens on my 1809 install on the PC with the tuner card. It is currently running Windows 8.1)
HI! I have issue with usb tuner. After update Windows 10 to October 2018 version analog function on tuner not work. I installed Windows 10 1809 clearly, but analog not work. Tuner AverMedia H831 Volar T2. In WMC work DVB-T2 only, analog tv and FM-radio not work. On computer with Windows 10 1803 this tuner working great. On Windows 10 1809 not work with WMC and AverTV software. AverTV software when tuner connected not launch, when displays startsplash application closing. Maybe in October update changed some any files, and I can copy this files from 1803? But what files need copy from 1803 to 1809?
i not have cable, i have antenna. My tuner have digital function (live tv with DVB-T2) and analog function (analog tv and analog fm-radio). Digital function work fine, not have problem with him, my tuner installed with BDA driver. When i start channels search in WMC, WMC answer "what my country", i'm from Russia, i select Russia, next step WMC displayes my tuner, digital part him, i push "Search" and WMC start scan digital channels
Hi All, Just reimaged my main system with Windows 10 1809 full clean install (not an upgrade). Did the swap out of encdec.dll and msvidctl.dll manually and the reghack as per first discussed on that French site. Then discovered that the 8.1 installer I've used since windows 10 1511 version doesn't work at all on 1809. Tried and installed that 8.8.2 one and that installs and has all my guide data and looks like its working but I cannot click on a show in the guide to play it or if clicking on a future show it doesn't even come up with the information on the show. Really weird. No circle going round no nothing. I use DVBLink virtual tuners which are detected and see all the channels when searching obviously if I have a guide this was all successful but clicking on a channel to view it in the guide and its just not having it! Do this in DVBLink app and it works. Any suggestions? As this is a clean install from the get go. Thanks for the steer on the Music folder crashing out its been doing that for me on 1803 forwards for some time glad to know I can fix that! Best Regards Gareth
I've been running this in a 1511 64 version of 10 for years. My HD HomeRun is working and my media center was happily recording till 12/26 and now it says No tuner available to satisfy the current request. It has done this before a few times but I always was able to reboot or use system restore or find a answer but today it say no tuners found and the tuners are working it just isn't seeing them anymore. I know there are answers buried in here but I just want to get it working again before I loose a bunch of scheduled recording. My System restore got turned off somehow so can just go back, probably happened when I upgraded my SSD to a 480 gig. There are some old restore points but it wont see them. Anyways point me in the right direction or run me through how to get it going again, thanks. WELL, I poked around and found the green button again and several said to go back to the earliest driver/install for the Home Run so I uninstalled and ran the earliest driver I had. My record button went away but the view program shows channels and so I fired up WMC and it saw the live tuner no issues. I updated to the latest driver and it complained I didn't have the digital rights to show content so I ran DCA again and it works yet again. SO for anyone who suddenly gets the no tuner error found you might want to try hdhomerun_windows_20150826 driver and it will probably fix it, plus make sure your DCA is installed and play ready is good. All my recordings are still there, scheduled recordings are good and my guide is full so seems happy again and didn't have to redo a lot of stuff.

I've been using WMC since shortly after it came out for XP way back in 2004. Everything about WMC I always loved and was real sad when MS dropped it from Win10. Even though every other of my PC's ran Win10, I stuck with Win7 for several years just for WMC. Well a week ago I had a hard drive crash and tried to rebuild WMC but had the tuner setup corruption issue with my CableCard tuner, and had no system restore point or image to revert to, so it would have meant having to reinstall Win7 again and re-do all my customizations which took hours. So I said screw it on Win7, especially since support is ending next year and tried to get this working. I applaud you guys for the efforts but I think I'm finally ready to say WMC is dead and I'm throwing in the towel. Its been a good run but there are other options now that didnt exist when WMC was first there, Sling, Youtube TV, Vue, Hulu TV, DirecTV Now and Plex for OTA DVR. All of them are fully supported on Win10 and actively being developed and improved by their dev teams. Its been a good ride WMC but its time to put you to rest. RIP WMC.
I had the exact same problem with version 8.8.2 and DVBLink. I uninstalled version 8.8.2 and went for 8.8.1 and then everything worked again.
Hi fm01 Glad its not just me. So we are in a bit of a catch 22 us DVBLink Virtual Tuner users we need to use 8.8.2 Installer as its the only one that installs and loads on 1809 and 8.8.2 appears to install and work apart from either getting a live show to play or record or view its full programme info although the guide populates with data. I have a USB tuner going to see if Media Center on 8.8.2 works on 1809 with a real proper tuner if it does then we have an issue with 1809 and DVBLink virtual tuners which hasn't been noticed / resolved yet. Does anyone know if 8.8.2 works with DVBLink on 1803? or 1709 as I jumped from 1607 Using 8.8.1 straight to trying 8.8.2 on 1809? I suspect DVBLink Virtual Tuners will only ever go so far as 1803 using the 8.8.1 installed into Windows 10 unless someone figures this out. Also the fix described to get the Music library not to crash out after 636 albums (General>Automatic Download Options>untick Retrieve album art) doesn't work even on 1803 it might make it past 636 but next when I go to view my library it'll be blank and wanting to rebuild up again. My library is on another machine via network share. I might add it to the NUC using a Mount point and see if that makes a difference. Anyone else had the issue where Music Library is always empty and keeps rebuilding and never ever seem to be ready and complete when going in it? Best Regards Gareth
Over Christmas, I built my dad a W10 WMC box, pre-configured it at my home - worked fine. This was to replace/augment a Tivo as his new location only has Clear QAM and WMC allowed for some useful editing of channel tables to match up the guide. In any event, it gets to his place, he plugs it in, and the box immediately downloads updates of various forms and now WMC doesn't work. In a very peculiar way. When WMC first starts, and first gets focus (as full screen), key presses and remote presses get queued, but not processed. I press the Windows key to bring up the windows menu and the screen in the background executes the queued key presses. I close the menu with the windows key, doa few more key presses in WMC, repeat the above cycle. At some point in this process, WMC suddenly starts processing key presses and remote presses as they happen. I went looking to try and find something that might have been sequestering the key presses, but nothing looks like an obvious issue. Help? This is the most recent W10 with all of the service packs and updates.

I installed 8.8.2 from the french WMC team and it works well, looks great on 4k tv and the remote control works better than it has been in years. Latest win10 with dvblink client installed. I have hit 1 snag, the DTB Addin for commercial skipping will not load, it crashes when opening WMC 8.8.2. I am using the final DTB release, DTBAddin1009R1 and tried x64 and x86 versions with compatibility mode dis/enabled. Anyone getting those pesky commercials skipped?
