Mine finally updated about an hour ago when I tried it and it's good until July 11th. This seems to happen about three to four times a year and I have no idea what causes it.

Confusingly, in some respects, V8.8.3 is the most developed version and will install on 1903.

V12 won't install on Windows after 1803 for the reason you quoted which is why I created V13, which will also install on 1903.

There are some documented differences between the two versions but irrespective of which version you install on 1903, you currently need to replace some DLLs in system32 to make it work properly.

I created some tools to do that and incorporated them into the V13 installer but they can also be downloaded and placed in the installer for any other version and run as required.

Yeah, the one machine I didn't update to use EPG123 finally pulled new guide data down successfully this morning. It's caused by indifference on MS's part, they wanted to kill all of WMC off and are miffed that they have to support it till win8 goes out of support so put absolutely minimal effort into keeping the guide updated. It's why they shifted it to Rovi, an inferior and presumably cheaper service than Zap2it. You can of course use EPG123 yourself (that pulls Zap2it data that's glorious compared to the Rovi stuff) and kiss relying on MS off completely, you're going to have to in two or three years whenever 8.1 drops out of support anyway...

Interesting, so, while Mainstream Support ended on January 9, 2018, they're going to theoretically keep the guide data working until Extended Support ends on January 10, 2023?

Or just the opposite. Here is a nice simple sentence in the Program Guide Terms of Service which can be found in text form at "C:\Windows\ehome\en-US\epgtos.txt" for US users.

I assume that this also applies to setup data.

If previous outages are anything to go on, Microsoft don't appear to care about providing the service at all. My Guide download still fails on an almost daily basis just like it has done for the last two years.

As per the readme file, please extract the installer to somewhere like c:\temp. It doesn't like path names that are long or have spaces in them.

you are going to have to try harder if you want help. 'doesn't work' isn't enough to go on.

I recently installed 1809 on a spare SSD but I run WMC on Windows 7 with an HD Homerun Prime. Most of my recording is of DRM protected sports channels. Has anyone accomplished WMC DRM recording on 1809 (or some other recent version) with an HD Homerun Prime?

We live in a world where websites can be translated at the touch of a button so instead of typing a few words in pidgin English that don't make sense, w
hy don't you explain, in Italian, details of the problem you are having and what you have done to try and solve it. That way, we might be able to help you.

As far as I know the DRM system needed hasn't worked on Windows 10 since version 1511 so most people who need it either stay with an old version and completely disable windows updates or don't use Windows 10 at all.

Thank you. I knew that there was a past time when technical people here had DRM compliant on some version of Windows 10. So Microsoft shut the door for my cable company.
