I did a clean install of windows from a may build, let it update.... 8.8.5 worked out of the box, inc music library, without turning off automatic download options @Kévin Chalet, when you do your next version, could you add @technodevotee missing reg fix to help WMC not crashing and corrupting the guide, "SDBI" and his fix reg one as well Just for any new people that havent read everything. It would prob be good to list @technodevotee fixes, as he wont be supplying a link to them soon, I have and im sure others have copies and can be requested, as long as he is ok with that. I know there is a current link but that will go once @technodevotee pulls the link big thanks for all that contribute to keeping WMC going
I still get a 2 - 4 min delay in my new install with no windows changes, any ideas? there are 1375 dvdid.xml files, all recently redone by yammm and all only about 1kb
I'm not sure what bug you're referring to. Do you have have a link mentioning what it consists in and how it's fixed?
This was from a few pages back, but no, most every major cable company started encrypting all the channels on their line a few years back, requiring that you get a cable box or cablecard.
didn´t found the time fpr testing 8.8.5, sorry.... But got another Problem on 8.8.4 as the last time. Windows Update 2020-9 will not install (Error 0x800F0922). I guess, there is something "wrong" with WU / WMC ;-). Anyone the same problem? What ist the correct way for installing 8.8.4 / 8.8.5. Please give me all the details from beginning to the end. yes, gone Through. Got the same error on 8.8.4 with Update 2020-8. Did a clean, fresh install and now i get the same Error again on 2020-9...
What makes you think that the Windows update is failing due to WMC? I have numerous PCs running various combinations of Windows and WMC versions and have never had the problem you are describing.
Ok... did a clean install without any Software. Update works! Did anouther clean install with WMC installed. Update fails! so ist the WMC, That „blocks“ the Update! ideas?!
I didn't mean I just plugged the HDHomeRuns into the cable coming out of the wall from the cable company plant, it was the aerial output on the back of their box one would normally plug one's TV into...
An HDHomeRun can't record from such a coaxial output on the back of a cable box. The coaxial output on the back of a cable box is used to output standard definition analog television signals to old televisions.
Beg to differ, I did it and it worked. The coax is a UHF modulated antenna grade signal that has both SD and HD channels available in it. Anything that's designed to be plugged into antenna like an HDHomeRun can be plugged into the antenna output on cable boxes as well as genuine antennas. Other SiliconDust products may not be capable of doing so but the HDHomeRuns I have definitely are.
Ooh, I'm just reading that the source code to XP and a few other things was just leaked on 4chan, if we're really lucky that includes the source code for WMC...
