Anyone really looking into this ? I would love to get protected channels working....Even AMC is protected and they play some classic movies that I like to run when I am working on my PC.... So Close but yet so far..
FINALLY! I have the Guide back. I uninstalled V4, released/renewed IP and flushed the DNS again. Cleaned the registry and of course made sure all references to both ehome folders and their contents were deleted. I also changed one of the host file IP's to 65.55.186.113. Rebooted and installed V3. Not sure if any one single item made the difference or if they all worked together, but it's back and that's all I care about. Now somebody please tell me to quit messing around with it!!!
Tried to post following to Dejong as he appears to be an expert. I'm not allowed to do PM yet so will post it here for help from anyone. Hi Dejong, Thought I would see if you could help me. Appears you know alot about this whole process of putting WMC on Windows 10. If you prefer, I can just put the info on the discussion. My problem is I can not get WMC to complete the setup. I have tried many times, V2, V3 and your V4. Ever thing goes fine for the install. The initial setup for WMC works and I click finish. When I try to do the "Live TV Setup", after about 2-3 minutes, I receive error "TV setup cannot continue" "Some WMC services have stopped working .. go to services and restart TV Setuo" There is no service of "TV setup". I do have NextPVR on my system because I thought I would be going to that. I have disable the startup of NextPVR just to make sure that is not the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, DeWayne Something to do with EHreceiver?? I SO want to stop messing with it also....Need to figure out the Codec thing for Live TV playback so we can view DRM channels/Content and I wont touch it any more besides enjoying it on WIndows 10.... We need the "Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder" exported from WIndows 8.1 and configured in WIndows 10, this should be a starting point. We are SO CLOSE....but, yet so far...
Thank you, I feel really honored but I'm by no means an expert, I've only compiled and edited stuff here.
addobi, help - how to uninstall ff_acm.acm and then reinstall? sorry just don't know how to do it. Never mind - Found the app FFdshow - Apparently something I added to get NextPVR working. I uninstalled and looks like TV setup is working now. Thanks, guys. Really appreciate the help.!!!
Just a question about this post. I'm on V2, had a recording set for yesterday, so then I'd left for work at 11:30 AM, it was set to record at 8 PM. I returned home at around 9:35 PM, started watching my recording and noticed that it did not start until 9:12 PM, BUT was suppose to actually start at 7:57 PM, since it's configured to start 3 minutes before the start time. I did not shut my computer off, nor put it to sleep. The only thing that happens, is my screen turns off, that's it. Will these steps fix this issue? Or do I need to upgrade to the latest version (I'm not totally up-to-date, I think it's V4?)?
If we can get the default microsoft video decoder working for win 10 WMC that would be great Cause I don't care much for the video quality of the LAV video. WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.0_x64_v3 is the only one that worked for me. Only issue is the video display error where you have to either maximize or minimize the screen to get live tv to tune in and play. Any fix for this yet ?
I am using V2 and it works for me. Try it out and check if the powercfg -waketimers indicates a time about 6 minutes before the recording.
is there a v4 x86 release too Awesome work guys, may allow me to finally migrate my MCPC to Win 10 (Missus uses the EPG heavily)
I've also had some problems with recordings not starting at the time they were supposed to start. I've applied that fix and I get a properly set wake timer. I'm almost 100% sure this should fix the above issue, but I haven't tested it yet. Place NETWORK Service in the Administrator group and open an elevated command prompt. Type in "powercfg /waketimers" and see if a scheduled program appears. Let's say you are scheduling a program at 02:00 and you have a 10 minute start time before the actual program, powercfg should show a time of 01:44:30, meaning it will wake up the computer 5 minutes and 30 seconds before it starts recording.
