I'm still on V5 because I such an issue with getting the initial Guide d/l to even work, so I'm hesitant to try anything else. However if the scheduled updates don't work for me then I guess I've really got nothing to lose. I checked my logs again tonight and still see where I'm getting nettv errors due to an invalid package name. And ironically, V5 is also installed on my HTPC and that appears to update just fine.
nope, it bombs out and the command windows disappears instantly. cant screen cap it. it doesnt matter really, running runassystem.exe as admin works fine, i just have to change directories to the install.
Ok, so as I stated on a previous post, I would try this again this evening. It still isn't working. I got it to work once, but never again...
Okay. What I found worked best was to created a folder on the C drive and name it WMC. Then in the command prompt all I had to do was cd c:/wmc and I was right there. I kept the WMC folder open on another monitor so I could see the files to run, and it went pretty smooth.
I will attach here JPEG's of the playback graphs for a Copy Protected WMC .WTV file. Maybe it will show some missing playback component. Check back as I will add graphs from Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 10 Pro, and Windows 8.1 with WMC upgrade. Windows 10 "windows update" from windows 7 Ultimate would not render a graph, something about missing filters. After installing the DVD Player in Windows 10, I was able to render a graph, but there was a warning that NOT ALL STREAMS COULD BE RENDERED.
V5/6 worked and are still working on my win 10240, but I had to launch mcupdate manually (as administrator) during the initial configuration. On 10537 everything worked flawlessly w/o any manual task.
It appears that MCUPDATE just hangs... It's running in the background and doing an update, but it's just hanging... Media center just sits at downloading TV... It eventually time's out but it takes about 5 min before it does.
I get this from the latest 10537, unchecking warn me isn't permanent, this never happened in the WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0_x64_revised edition. Trying to unblock manually results in an assertion failure has occurred.
Thanks it works on Windows 10 realy great (the only thing I don't know why there is no addons uvalable) PS: Can I install this on Windows 8.1 without Media Center Pack? Thanks for Anwsering and Best Regards
V6 is installable on W8.1 as is. On the older releases you have to remove the W10 check from the install script.
heula: Hi, try to change the ownership of this file to Administrators. They also have to have a full control permission. Then you should be able to uncheck "Blokkering opheffen" option. It helped in my case. EDIT: If You aren't succesful, make sure the ehtray process isn't running in the background. Hope this helps.
