Open an elevated CMD, navigate to the folder, and run _TestRights.cmd. You will see the error msg.

Everyone has 5555. It's just that for example Groningen has a few different frequencies than Maastricht, which will result in less channels.

10547 is just for testing, no guide listing working in 10.0 builds
    use one of 6.3.9600 builds

Thank you for including the suggestions I made in v7. Confirmed uninstall, followed by confirmed install and reboot, Windows Accessories folder on the start menu contains a partial list of shortcuts. Folder attributes look correct when compared to a Win10 w/o WMC. I am scratching my head as to why the other items in the folder are not displayed on the start menu any more.

    Twice already... no luck still...

I'm thinking this 'rebuild Windows 10 Icon cache'.

    For the DRM issue:

For Windows 8.1 pro, when media center was installed, didn't that also give the ability to play DVDs through
Media Player? Is it possible to compare windows media player before and after media center on 8.1? Then also compare media player on 8.1 with the player on 10?

I used WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v6 but I did a fresh install of Windows 10 first.

    Almost everyone.

Just read back the thread and learn about the "tricks"

#1 Launch the mediacenter recover task and reboot

#2 if you are US based edit the host file as suggested many times

#3 during the initial setup launch mcupdate.exe as administrator, if it doesn't work push the back button and start over, but kill any mcupdate.exe still running.

#4 if nothing of the above works do an "in place upgrade" (reinstall w10 on top of itself keeping everything)

#5 in the worst scenario reinstall w10 keeping just the personal files
