I made it work even on Server 2012r2, so yes it will work. Anyway I can't see that much point in doing so, why not install it natively and then activate it whit MS toolkit?
Hey guys, I have been pullign my hair out... I have a fresh win 10 install - installed win 10 dvd player - installed wmc v8 - installed my hdhomerun drivers - installed shark codec pack, utiziling teh settings launched wmc, ran setup etc, im able to get guide. but not able to get DRM channels. (non drm work fine). I keep getting "system files modified" screen..... Those that are gettign scrambled channels working...I'm assumign you are referring to drm...is there anythign else from the above steps you have done? Thanks again!
Anyone seen this: I schedule something in the future to record followed by a few hours of my PC going into "sleep" mode..when PC comes out of sleep the scheduled recorded show is not triggered..In fact I have to do a restart to get WMC to record my shows..this is a bit painful..I could leave my PC on 24/7 but don't like to do that either..any thoughts?
Update PlayReady / Cable Card Encrypted Channels Page 167 post I completed this: It required Internet Explorer to run and completed without error I did not complete the remaining portion of the post: Page 168 post I did not complete this: I did complete this: Although the Update PlayReady does complete it is not possible to play encrypted channels.
I tried the drm reset at the time phrunt posted it. No love there. It'll record but won't play back. To do a good test, make sure you're not playing old protected files. DRM components will recognize it as a foreign computer and stop before even attempting to play. You'll have to record new content to try this (and everytime you reset DRM). We're simply missing something in the playback portion.
Thanks, I didnt even get to that point. I'm just tryign to play a live channel.... SO CLOSE!!!! hahahaha
CenturyLink has been canvasing the neighborhood trying to get subscribers on the local cableco's service to change. I'm considering making a call and asking them what they protect... but still holding out hope that the scripters here are still working on backroom fixes. Been using MCE since XP days when we had to install it as an OEM version of windows. I refuse to give it up. I'm a former MSFT employee, so i'm even considering pulling a few strings to get one of the old devs to chat me up. Not sure if i'd be able to track someone down who worked on that portion though. The DRM guys worked on a bunch of stuff for many different teams.
Enable Remote Desktop Connection To disable RDP checks, patch following x64 files: Microsoft.MediaCenter.UI.dll (not sure if it is really needed; this makes Microsoft.MediaCenter.Interop.SystemInformation.RemoteSession property to return false) Code: 6eb46 20 00 10 00 00 28 C9 28 00 06 16 FE 01 16 FE 01 16 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ehshell.dll Code: 184b17 28 35 63 00 06 16 FE 01 00 00 00 00 00 16 00 00 Code: 190abf 02 7B 06 34 00 04 7B 89 34 00 04 2D 16 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 2C This is only a proof of concept; UI animations and videos won't be really viewable.
I bought a dvb-t usb stick for my laptop but it's not compatible with win 10. Is there anybody using one of these with win10+wmc ?? If so it would be great if you could tell me the make and model of it. I'm in the uk.
Great, Thanks.!!! Isn't just matter of viewing the videos, it's matter than even the remote administration of live TV is impossible via RDP. So that's important for Who use DVBlink or WmcServer or both. Wow
@Graznok What version of eshell.dll are you using ? Mine (the one inside the v7 package) is 6.3.9600.18015 Both patterns aren't at the indicated offsets, the first one isn't present at all
First (pure guess, need to verify) Code: 184b4f 28 36 63 00 06 16 FE 01 Second (same pattern, different offset) Code: 190af7 02 7B 06 34 00 04 7B 89 34 00 04 2D
Abbodi the first one is repeated a lot of times. Anyway i got the 16384 eshell.dll and I patched it. WMC still works fine with it (patched or unpatched) but it still tells that video is unsupported over rdp. No need to have a TV tuner to check that. Any video is affected.
Yeah I don't think that is enough because I usually try to connect only when other users are logged off. I might try some things but if it works then hey I'm okay with that. Usually when I am connecting to an extender I am not on my computer.
