I encountered this too. There is a problem with renaming files and folders. Except on the desktop. If a file or folder is created or put on the desktop it can be renamed but if they are anywhere else it cannot be renamed. There is a video on youtube by Windows Insider on this same issue. I am thinking that this is a bug. He sort of fixed it by changing the way files and folders are displayed in directories by selecting view as list. UPDATE: OS Build 16299.125 fixed the rename files and folders in small icon view issue.
I have DPI scaling issues on booting. Everytime, it f**ks up DPI in many apps or right click menus and makes them blurry. I use 200% scaling on 4K monitor.
Hi there! My Surface Pro 4 has been updated to build 16299.19 through Windows Update. After that, I can't see the keyboard option 'split screen layout' anymore under the keyboard button in the taskbar. Does anybody know how to fix this or do I need to realize that this option is not coming back anymore? There is something like a thumb keyboard that you can move around the screen, but it's so small that you can only use it with one thumb and not with both as you can do with a split layout. Thanks for your support.
I have the same problem on three 3.party Windows 10 Tablets now. Interestingly, sometimes that Keyboard just shows on start, but in Taskbar. I use now (the new?) OSK Keyboard apps and pinned that to the Taskbar, but could pin in the system launch bar part! That OSK is located in %/windows/system32/osk.exe Mainly I use a Bluetooth Keyboard on those Tablets.
No keyboard or mouse in safe mod. Stuck at login screen have to install windows again but still no keyboard or mouse in safe mod. In 1703 it was working
That would only be if you use Custom-Driver for Keyboard and Mouse, which would not be loaded in Safe Mode. That could happen if you use (as example) WiFi and/or Bluetooth Keyboard and/or Mouse, like from Logitech or whatsoever! Just connect a PS2/USB Keyboard and Mouse and try again. I would use PS2 KM!
Check your motherboard bios/uefi settings related to usb ports. There should be something like legacy usb support which should be set to enabled if you are facing issue like usb keyboard/mouse not working during boot. There may be other similar settings for your motherboard so try them(default option first).
Having issues with default playback device changing from S/PDIF to my monitor speakers occasionally (monitor is connected with DP cable) even thought I disabled the monitor speakers in playback devices. Had to go to device manager and under System devices disable High Definition Audio Controller (on PCI bus 1). Don't remember having this issue on RS2.
Is there way to increase font size in ver1703? I can't select any but 100%, 125% etc. I need to a percentage around 110% or just 105%...Is that possible? Thanks Sirs!
Yes, with WinPE you can delete the driver "snapman.sys". After, with a normal boot I think you will be able to uninstall the software.
A silly question: The file "snapman.sys" is located in the folder "windows \ system32 \ drivers" is correct right?
