I did a clean install early this morning on my 9 year old desktop pc. I merged my registry tweaks and disabled unnecessary services, but Task Manager is showing that there are 80 processes running, roughly 30 more when compared with build 1607 with the same tweaks on my pc. Memory usage however remains the same compared with 1607. The old Windows Defender UI can still be accessed, but it takes 30 seconds to load. The Modern UAC Prompt UI tweak also seems not to work anymore.
Thanks for the info, I will look it up. What I have noticed now since the install this morning is that the number of running processes are now a bit less, as if Windows is adapting the processes to the way I use my pc. The memory in use is also down from 1100MB to 849MB during idle. I also noticed the memory Speed, Slots used and Form factor is not displayed in the Task Manager.
From win 7 DAZ activated it should still work to get a free HWID, with ISO (15063 iso's from 15063 sticky thread)/MCT+Upgrade Assistant+Assistive Upgrade (when they are updated to 15063). From 8.1 KMS you need 15086 aka 1511 ISO to establish the free HWID. Compressed RAM is not compact os
going to fresh install Windows 10 Final 1607 RS1 Build 14393 / creators update is nothing cannot use dts audio even with latest realtek and vr is not my cup of tea hardware is way expensive
I have applied registry tweaks, removed all the modern apps incl. Edge and disabled various scheduled tasks. The memory info for my laptop however is displayed correctly with the same tweaks and mods. I did update the bios of the ECS G31T-M mb about 8 years ago and no other bios updates are available for it.
The Settings app crashed this morning while I was going through the settings. Unfortunately I can't recall what I clicked on when it happened.
I don't know if it is just on my machines, but the "Get notifications from apps and other senders" keep reverting back to On with the other three settings below it also set to On and greyed-out.
I can't get DISM to run. Says there is something wrong with the source. Is it because my system is 15063.11, and the ESDs available are 15063.0? DISM says there are errors on my system, but can't repair them. I've tried: Code: Turn on online content for DISM gpedit.msc -> Computer Configuration\System\Specify settings for optional component.... ##### CHECK HEALTH ##### Dism /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth sfc /scannow ##### .ESD ##### Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:D:\sources\install.esd:1 Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:D:\sources\install.esd:1 /limitaccess ##### .WIM ##### Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:D:\sources\install.wim:1 Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:D:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess ##### MOUNTED IMAGE ##### Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\Users\%username%\Desktop\W10mount Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\Users\%username%\Desktop\W10mount /limitaccess
