If anybody's interested in hardening SEP telemetery and (Windows) security you can check out my post here https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...lemetry-repository.63874/page-73#post-1724179
Updated my post. Sorry the REG file I included wasn't really getting the job done. I went another route and hardened Telemetry and Security during Setup (installing SEP)
Hi All, SEP is quite good but It seems it can't be disabled/exited fully for temporary purposes. Even after right clicking & choosing ''Disable Symantec Endpoint Protection'' from the System Tray Symantec icon, it seems it keeps on doing something in background. It seems that the components are brought back to function automatically one by one as the showing number of errors keeps on decreasing! Thanks.
You can disable SEP -> https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1554529 Has worked flawless for years. 7z attached at post bottom. Auto-Protect "could interfere" depending on how you look at it. By default it's set to enable SEP (if disabled) after 30 ~ish min. You can also disable this safety function.
Thanks. I think there's an easier way: C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Smc.exe -stop And to restart it: C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Smc.exe -start
