SEP system tray icon warns of "multiple issues" following installation of January 3rd, 2018 Windows Security Update (KB4056892) The above was supposed to include a link, but I'm not allowed to do that yet, so just Google it and you'll find the Symantec post (presently first hit). On my rig the OS occasionally says my SEP ain't working, and it does show the 'multiple problems (2)' (it started with 3), but opening SEP suggests everything is OK, so I'm not worried.
Hello, would you be so kind to tell me where I can find "WGET batch utility" and how to use it? Thanks a lot!
there is no update that i can see on the issue about "multiple issues detected" in system tray icon after updating the client.. I could not even find the specific windows update which supposedly causes the issue. waiting for the hotfix to be released .. hopefully soon ...
No functional impact on the SEP client to the protection technology stack has been observed at the time of writing. Therefore, the SEP system tray icon warns of "multiple errors" is not considered critical. Anoying - yes. Still not critical. An update will be released soon enough, registry and/or other modification is not supported. Bye
in Win 8.1, uninstalling KB4056895 for the time being fixes the issue with SEP.. still waiting for the hotfix...
yes... uninstall that update, the warning disappears, but since the update is an important update as per microsoft, it automatically installs it after a day .. so the tray warning comes back... the registry key solution doesn't help either ...
You can modify Windows to not install updates (and automatic restart). Edit Group Policy --> Windows Update
I think (and I may be wrong) the path is: Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update
As wrirten here: _hxxps://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH248552.html, "The full 12.1 RU6 MP9 and 14 RU1 MP1 hotfix builds will be available from Fileconnect soon". Can anybody help with correct filenames/links?
