Hi all. I see that a few patches were published for 14.3 RU7 (I didn't know). Does anyone have a link to 14.3 RU7 Patch 3 (14.3.9734.7000) English x64 ? Thanks. /x13
Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.3 RU10 (14.3.12154.10000) https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ndpoint-protection.51100/page-93#post-1869914
@darkrats Update SEP. Latest support for x86: 14.3.8268.5000 - RU5 (updates normally) Latest support for Windows 7: 14.3.9681.7000 - RU7 (updates normally) Since you run Windows 10 latest is a good choice If you run into strange issues updating to a newer version you should run latest CleanWipe first (included in full version packages) I happened to have a VM with same version installed and same issue as you report, a newer version is the way to go. If you have any exclusions added that you rely on, make backup first. They are just as easily imported to your updated version.
I found out that 14.2 has finally reached "end of life". I updated to 14.3 and now everything works. Thanks for the link to the definitions. I tested them out on my new install, and they also work very well. By the way, does anyone have a backup AV in mind should a different one ever be needed? I recently started testing AVG, but thankfully, now I can stay with my favorite, Symantec Endpoint Protection. There's finally peace in my digital kingdom.
I have two questions. Is there a point to use dark network client when you have "allow Insight lookups for thread detections" option enabled? What advantages/disadvantages dark network client has other than localized virus definitions? I used 14.2 version for a long time, and had it installed as standard/typical user, simply put I didn't care(of course i had telemetry and pseudoanalyzed data sending disabled), it worked fine. Then had to update it to the newer version so i found this thread and it got me thinking more about the privacy side of things, maybe I shouldn't have found it and remained blissfully ignorant so I wouldn't be asking stupid questions, btw, thanks in advance for the answer.
