It was like that even in Windows 7 - it's used for alternative input. Office also used to break without some fonts included there / some other stuff.
Just tried the alpha, and downloaded 18272 en-gb, and created iso Ok Iso has same filesize as the one I created yesterday, using miniserver-master (although different crc) - but I haven't tried installing from the iso yet I did notice though, that there was no option for Ring/skip ahead selection ? and also, after the alpha completed it left behind the (empty) \$UUPDUMP folder @mkuba50 what are the pros & cons of using this app vs. miniserver-master ?
got ===================================================== This script needs to be executed as an administrator. ===================================================== when clicked start already trying running uupdownloader.exe as administrator, same error
Miniserver is deprecated since the online version has option to generate download scripts. The ring/skip selection in this application is not needed, because it is meant to be used to download already known versions. The checksum always is different when creating ISO from UUP. The $UUPDUMP directory should be deleted after the application finishes work, but if something was in it when the deletion process was running, then it skips deletion. You can delete it manually after work is done. I'm not sure about pros & cons. Downloader is meant to be a very simple GUI for UUP dump that does not give confusing options. Will be fixed in a new version.
Just tried the tool and converted to iso so got this 17763.1.180914-1434.RS5_RELEASE_CLIENTMULTI_UUP_x64FRE_DA-DK-- why 17763.1 and not 17763.107 (guess its only cosmetic I havent installed but guess installed it will say 17763.107. Can this tool be in future so we can make a x32 and x64 in one iso or do we have to download both iso andself convert to aio x32_x64) thanks for for a nice and easy quick tool.
It has been explained many times. 17763.1 is the Build. You get .107 with CU. The CU is not included in .ISO.
Thank you, mkuba50, I really like the clean interface! Now I guess you wouldn't want to "spoil" that nice window with some sort of "Advanced options..." button, that would allow me to select "Download UUP files only, then quit" option, would you? (Remember, I'm the "UUP direct apply guy"). If not, I fully understand. Thanks again for sharing this "abomination" (your words, not mine).
I tried to make a full ISO of Windows 1809 (17763.55), downloading the 17763.55 UUP files and script from "UUP dump" website. All works well as I get an ISO, I installed it and it is 17763.1 (not 17763.55). Even before I create the ISO, I check the UUP info and tells is 17763.1 (not 17763.55). As @SAM-R writes above, I need to integrate the CU after. I understand that, and it is done. But this gives me the following question: Why in the UUP dump exists different minor builds to download, if all minor builds gives the same major build? Can you lead me to some help please? Thank you very much in advance.
Probably because WU downloads the base 17763.1 UUP's + SSU/CU of that time in one package, on UUP you can download the SSU/CU combo.
That's how the ''''Feature Update''' Process is designed. *.1 build is UUP files only whereas any higher delta will contain the corresponding CU/SSU updates as CAB files. The Windows process then applies them during the (actual) Upgrade process.
Tried in admin mode the uupdl gui alpha 2 for the latest 18272.1000 amd64 it stalls saying there is no language available for this version, the start process is grayed out,, i cant do nothing ??
