You need to compute checksums of files with LF line endings to avoid the problem. Anything else is not needed.
I had to manually install Visual C++ redistributable, because the installer downloaded by script for some reason also does not install this file... Edit: Also, Windows 7 does not have Get-FileHash cmdlet... This may explain why there is always mismatch found message on Windows 7.
@slave77 could you change your script to download UUP files in uup folder without it creating so many folders like 15063\AiO\en-us\amd64
api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll belongs to Universal CRT a.k.a. update KB2999226 (bundled with original VC++ redist) or KB3118401 or latest Monthly Rollup
May I ask how I'm to look at the downloaded zip file in Explorer (not on Github page) and know what version it is I've downloaded? Or doesn't that matter since Github was introduced? Or am I meant to rename it (so I know what version it is) extract it and rename the now elongated folder name to something meaningful as it was before? Or just leave as is, extract and run script to know what version the downloaded file was? Code: New File: uupdl-master-ed00ba2aac00b3a4409abdce99a9bcaad5c90a90.zip New Folder: uupdl-master-ed00ba2aac00b3a4409abdce99a9bcaad5c90a90 Previous naming convention: File: uupdl.v.x/xx/xx.zip Folder: uupdl.v.x.xx.xx Edit: Never mind, forget it. See post #797 below.
It's not like that if you download from the new Github link. Bin everything, download afresh from the new Github link, extract, run script and go through the manual update procedure, still downloading when prompted and replace - does it work for you? Plz...
I downloaded it from Github. Then I exact all files to the folder and confirm to overwrite all files. Then I rename the zip as uupdl.v0.0x.xx so I know what version it is. As I keep backup of all programs and games I use.
Yes I know that mate, but I'm thinking in terms of getting it new, grabbing it from Github (now the main download link), extracting, running it and going through the manual update [P] (for test choose to still download and replace). Moreover I want someone to confirm I'm not going bonkers. Any chance of you trying but not renaming anything after download and extract it? If not, no problem. Since Github elongated naming was introduced and no else seems to be able to reproduce the problem, I just download new versions manually, instead of [P]. No prob. Edit: Last try... Spoiler: Last Try... Last try... Fresh download = uupdl-master-ed00ba2aac00b3a4409abdce99a9bcaad5c90a90.zip Extract it and it creates its folder in D:\Archives\Unpacks\ "D:\Archives\Unpacks\uupdl-master-ed00ba2aac00b3a4409abdce99a9bcaad5c90a90" Open folder and run script - check for updates [P] Note that I'm even now telling it to create a new download folder D:\Update but still it fails!? There are now no files at all in either D:\Update or "D:\Archives\Unpacks\uupdl-master-ed00ba2aac00b3a4409abdce99a9bcaad5c90a90" I give in, especially as no one else can reproduce this! But as mentioned earlier it's not a prob and will just manually grab updates. But this exact same procedure worked perfectly with numerous new versions yesterday and I posted feedback showing that. Since Github was introduced - pear shaped! After getting the download to D:\Update folder I just worked through the update routine running the commands one by one as I went and all was fine - I give up!
