I'm a Gom player user but I also have VLC player installed to play Movies that ask for codecs or don't show subs correctly.So I always recommend it as the default player for friends.VLC is OK.
well, VLC is great in that it's cross platform. I use it together with SMplayer on Ubuntu. However it still does not natively support HEVC decoding yet, unless an HEVC codec plugin is installed. On Windows, I still prefer MPC-HC and MPC-BE. Potplayer is also good but its privacy terms are a bit scary. VLC still has a long way to go on Win platform.
@lobo11 I've merged the thread with the existing appropriate thread. @wazzock The news is about the UWP variant of VLC which follows different versioning scheme than the desktop build.
Used it for so many years, and still using it It is difficult to find an equivalent to this software.
