@burfadel... I downloaded your updated installer For Microsoft Office Updates V10 and when I attempted to use it, it displays a window briefly then immediately disappears... I tried multiple times but it repeated... One time it remained visible stating it had finished installing updates, even though none were installed... I also noticed that IF I do NOT use administrator privileges that the V10 window stays open and reports this, but when I use administrator privileges the V10 window immediately disappears... I tried this on (3) different PC's (2) Windows 7-x64 and (1) Windows 8.1-x64... When I use v9 and it works as expected...
Burf... I have the same problem with office 2010 Pro Plus x86... installing under Admin on WIN 7 ENT x64 (I just tried it for the 3rd time) 7, 8 and 9 work fine
Burf... I'm using Office 2010 Standard-x86, but when using v10 I don't get a any Office location selection choice because the window disappears...
I can't find any info on pjintlproject2010-kb2863933 I downloaded it using the Windows Hotfix downloader 7.4 but when I click on the link to bring up the knowlegebase article I get file not found. I can't even google.... this is the only page that comes up for that hotfix. Where did this hotfix come from and what does it fix?
Burf, I just attempted to use v11 but still have issues... I used Run as Administrator and the v11 Window remains visible now, however NO Office 2010-x86 Standard updates were installed... The v11 window implied it found updates and would install them as applicable and stated Press any key to Exit... I waited for 10 minutes or so, but NO Updates were listed or installed... I then used v9 and it worked as expected and installed 31 M$ updates properly... This was using a CLEAN installed Windows 7-x86 Home Premium for TESTing with an Office 2010-x86 Standard with SP2 update (Installation files inside the Office Updates folder)...
I just had a quick look and can't see any reason why it wouldn't be working. I will send you a script via PM, it's identical to the normal script, but without the installs being silenced.
Burf, thanks... I will TEST it tomorrow and send you PM feedback... You mentioned above that V11 is using SILENT Installs... Therefore V11 may have been functioning correctly but I was expecting the Line by Line Installation info for each Update I had seen on V9 and previous versions... I did watch my HDD Busy Light when using V11 and it did not appear to be BUSY enough for the Office 2010 Update installs... After waiting for 10 minutes or so, when I closed V11 I checked Windows Updates and ONLY Office 2010 Standard-x86 SP2 was listed...
The actual command to install the updates is the same in the old and new installers, the issue is elsewhere and is most likely something simple! The test script will just help narrow down where the issue is. If anyone else (not on Office 2010 x86) also has the same issue let me know and I'll send you the link for the test script. There is no point running the test script if things are running properly, there is nothing new or advantageous about it (apart from finding the issue).
I just updated the Office 2013 lists. Just be aware there are a LOT of updates this month, around 1.2 GB total for each of Office 2013 x86 and x64 . The large size is due to the way the updates are done, and multiple language support etc. Yes, these are post-SP1 updates. Please make sure SP1 is installed prior to installing these updates.
