KB4016240 - Cumulative Update (OS Build 15063.250) 25-April-2017 Tweaks and Fixes post updated - download links and changelog. Thanks to those who posted links.
I have disabled updates in windows redstone2 permanently using DWS tool , so i think this above post is no longer needed?
LOL! So because you personally did something via a different method the post should be deleted from the forum!!!
The latest update fails for me, I extracted the CAT from the MSU, and the CAB installed just fine without issues, then PC was doing its updating on reboot, got to 94%, failed, reverted changes, rebooted. Where do I look as to WHY it failed? I have many services turned off and system tasks disabled and I am totally aware that with such tweakge issues can arise, but I would rather go and learn why than just restore my "non-tweaked" image. There has to be an Update log somewhere.., right? EDIT: Error code 0x800f0922
If you remove 27 nuts and bolts from your car, and halfway down the motorway the engine packs in and a wheel falls off, would the mechanic explain to you precisely step by step how this happened, or would he just tell you you're an idiot for removing all the parts without knowing what the consequence would be?
But if many, if not most of those nuts and bolts were totally worthless and made the car perform worse than it could've been if the worthless ones were gone, wouldn't it make more sense to see WHICH of those bolts and nuts were actually necessary. It would be the hard way.
But they only seem worthless to you until further down the road when you realise (Like now) that you might have needed them And yes, it would make much more sense to learn what each and every nut and bolt you want to remove does, before doing it, but seems you just removed them and when the wheels fall off you start asking what they were for
Well luckily PC's are not cars! Your car wheel falls off when you drive - you're screwed, but if update fails, nothing happens other than update not applying - MS did a great just with their "If-Update-No-Work-Restore-Before-Update-State" feature! FYI, I got it working by enabling all services, so at least I know it has nothing to do with tasks and has to do with a service or services. Now I just have to restore my Acronis Image I made yesterday and figure out which service it is, enable it, and remove disabling of that service from my list of tweaks, so this does not happen again.
