Where did you get the version numbers 170324-1941? Mine still shows the original rtm version 170317-1834 in the registry even though I've installed the cumulative update.
Photoshop is rejecting colour profiles, I get a monitor colour profile error that only cropped up after installing RS2
well they send a update now is up to 15063.11 dont know what that patch up but it still feels the same.
one thing that i would like to understand. the insider preview iso (15063.0), if a user installs it, goes on updating it untill 11th april, the windows will be rtm or will be continue to be insider preview so it will continuously update to the latest insider previews that will be released from now on?
This is an insider preview as well as the rtm. It will most likely be updated again before or on 4/11 and wil continue to be updated after that. However, the version will remain 15063.x with continuously updated values for x, currently 15063.11.
so this "Windows 10 (Insider Preview) 15063 x64" will continue to be insider preview and will not be rtm? in that case the user will have to reinstall win 10 but this time with the rtm iso?
I switch my from fast ring to the.... Preview release ring. So I'm good. I can't figure out why though Skype preview hasn't update. There is a new version out for couple weeks but system don't detect it.
No. It was an insider preview for testing but also is the rtm. The rtm .iso will always be 15063.0--cumulative updates will increase the value designated in the rtm as 0, but that doesn't change what is released in the .iso (15063.0). If people download the version weeks out from the rtm date, Microsoft usually includes the most current update in the download but that doesn't change the .iso. Once you have the .iso you don't need another one--you just need the cumulative updates that supplement it.
Now I get it. thanks for the info. So peoplpe will not need to download the updated rtm iso that will roll out on 11 for everybody, but just install this xx.0 one and keep it updated.. Thanks for clarification..
rs2_release_svc_escrow is from a different build lab hence the date and time are different. I don't think that it was intended for public release. May be why tweet was deleted very quickly. 15063.rs2_release.170317-1834 is what I have and as one can see it is from the rs2_release build lab.
Thanks. Do the secondary numbers--170317-1834--ever change with CUs? Like I said his release were higher numbers, i.e., 170324-1941, implying that they might have been changed as a result of installing the CU. As I said my secondary numbers remained the same despite the CU, so I suppose those numbers are just a time stamp on a later unreleased .iso.
Again, looks like just a later time stamp on a later unreleased .iso. I would think the original rs2 rtm .iso would keep its original date and time stamp--170317-1834--despite any CUs since the .iso will always remain 15063.0. Thanks for help!
Because this is a release build, a clean installed system won't be configured as Insider unless you do it yourself. So if you're after a non-Insider machine, this build will work fine for you - the machine will not be updated to RS3 Insider when it starts to appear. You can check it yourself to be sure after installing by going to Settings / Update & Security / Windows Insider Programme.
