Just did an inplace upgrade with an MSMG stripped iso ! I'm not in the insider program at this time but still got the update KB4016250. I thought It only was delivering to people who are opt in the insider program
As I said before, I'm getting also problems with Chrome with Google Translator icon, at popup messages, etc
No problem with FireFox x32 Portable, the most stable browser to my practice since 9841 till 15063.11
Build 15063.11 got some pretty annoying bugs that I hope will be ironed out by April 11th. On one of my older laptops (1st gen core i5), drivers that were made during the Windows 7 era which work just fine in Windows 10 build 14393 becomes incompatible in build 15063. Tried to set the compatibility of the drivers to Windows 7, but that didn't work. The bad part is that the laptop manufacturer stopped making drivers for the laptop since 2012 so now I need to go hunting for alternative drivers. Windows Update didn't have the drivers either. Then on two out of three of my laptops (3 different models), Chrome works flawlessly; however on the third laptop, Chrome refuses to allow me to install any extensions at all. It is always stuck on the "checking" part during any extension installation and I would always have to end Chrome in the task manager. Not sure what the difference is between the laptops since I follow the same installation procedure for all three except laptop specific drivers. However, all 3/3 laptops have problems where the start menu begins to wonk out. The start menu seemingly stops responding to any changes made to it. Literally any changes will be erased once the computer restarted. When I go into the Settings App to change some start menu settings, the start menu doesn't respond to the changes either. The start menu feels buggy as hell. It is still usable as I am able to access my programs fine, but the start menu just will not apply any modifications made to it. Oh and I forgot to mention, I tried doing fresh installations from 2 different iso sources (one made from ESD's and one from the technet dump). I did like 2 fresh installations on all three laptops just to test whether it was some fluke or not. The start menu in build 15063 is pretty buggy in my opinion.
If the incompatibility only came after a fresh installation, have you tried: Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\CI\Policy] "UpgradedSystem"=dword:00000001 RS1 introduced some restrictions regarding older drivers on a fresh install.
lol yea, that's why upgrades are usually worse than clean installs, because one registry entry has a 1 instead of a 0
Still trying to figure out if it works in RS2 This is confusing, on one hand you have a snappy fast system, that drivers for old software doesn't work, on this hand you have slow, crawling system, if it works on RS2, but old drivers work
anyone here uses madVR video renderer? Right now with this windows build it crashes in fullscreen everytime no matter what. Anyone has the same problem?
For those already running 15063: Question #1: Can you disable automatic driver updates through Windows Update? Question #2: How is Game Mode enabled/disabled? through the settings app or through the Xbox/GameDVR app? Thanks!
1 - The registry tweak to disable automatic driver updates still works fine for me. 2 - The settings app has the option to disable/enable game mode.
For specific games you have to enable it trough windows G combination key when you have start the game and click on settings on the game bar
