I agree.. and i already said the same thing in post #1940. The minor improvements could have been delivered via CUs. For me it broke more than it fixed.
Hello everyone, I've been using windows 10 enterprise ltsb for a long time, I was wondering if it's worth switching to this latest version of windows 10 pro I just want to format my computer and start fresh again, is it worth or just I should stay on ltsb? I just play games and never had any issues with ltsb
I'm the kind of guy that wanted to stay on windows 7 forever, then I heard about LTSB, I believe I first heard about it here on this forum "Take everything we loved about Windows 7, add the under-the-hood improvements of Windows 8 and 10 but none of the marketing/cloud/phone app/user-tracking crap, and what do you get? Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB edition." These are the reasons which got me interested and the reason I switched to windows 10.
I don't know, this is why I'm asking here if I should switch to this pro version or not, If I do switch, I'd want to get rid of the store, apps, and make tracking as minimum as possible, is that possible? I just read this from the wiki Microsoft officially discourages the use of LTSB outside of "special-purpose devices" that perform a fixed function and thus do not require new user experience features. As a result, it excludes Windows Store, most Cortana functionality, and most bundled apps (including Microsoft Edge). Is MS basically saying that it only discourages people from using LTSB, because they won't "enjoy" such features? ( store, cortana, bundled apps? ) Those "features" serve to no use to me honestly, and I only see them as bloatware, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me your opinion about ltsb vs pro, you seem to have a lot of knowledge regarding these subjects
You chose a very specific windows 10 for specific reasons you liked, so that's why i asked you what your reasons were.
You mean the custom items/groups you added yourself? The Win-X menu items are at: Code: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\WinX The default items are the Group1 Group2 Group3 folders. Just backup and copy across any additional ones you have added yourself and restart Explorer for them to appear in Win-X menu. Obviously, however you customised it, the same apps/scripts.files whatever will need to be at same locations.See this post for a little more info.
Anybody knows how to speed up all 3rd party autoruns item? I mean, there is 10 second delay between Windows-related icons in taskbar (sound, network, usb removables) and all other appears at login.
