New CU for 1709: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-hotfix-repository.57050/page-254#post-1401426 Will update the OP tomorrow, it's 3:30 am overhere, time to sleep
Well, this is very confusing. It looks like it's caused by removing Microsoft Sticky Notes because after I removed all the unwanted apps but this one I didn't have the problem. The thing is that if I remove it with MSMG ToolKit I don't have the problem but if I remove the remaining apps with NTLite the problem returns, which is strange! If I choose to remove all the unwanted apps with MSMG ToolKit the Photos and Store apps are in english and not in my native language and if I open them nothing works! Also, the Store app is called Store instead of Microsoft Store like before! I didn't even bother to use NTLite after I removed all the unwanted apps with MSMG ToolKit because I already had another problem! What's also strange is that I removed all the unwanted apps with NTLite but the Microsoft Sticky Notes one, signed in to Windows 10 local account, installed CCleaner to uninstall the mentioned app to see if I'd still had the problem after uninstalling it but the app didn't even appears in its installed apps list! I tried removing it with a PowerShell script and I was successfull and the Photos app didn't close itself after a second! So, is it possible to run a silent Post-Setup PowerShell script in order to remove the app so that I may see if I'll have that problem? If so, what's the script and how can I configure it in NTLite? Do I have to run the PowerShell script as Administrator (and is it possible?) or not? And will it work just for the current user or for all users, like I want? EDIT: When I click "Scan properties" in my printer a get an error. It talks about Imaging Device.exe and Windows Photo Viewer so does it mean removing Windows Photo Viewer caused this? But I don't want to have Windows Photo Viewer! Everytime I connect the printer to the PC it's also installed an app that it's always reinstalling itself after I remove it! EDIT 2: When removing apps after I use the Remove Default Metro Apps Using Apps List option in most cases it says the provisioned appx Package doesn't exist in most of them. EDIT 3: So, it looks like what caused the app language problem and the other problem of not being able to open the Photos and Store apps was caused by removing the Xbox.TCUI app with MSMG ToolKit which means I'm forced to have it after opening the Store app for the first time as it downloads and installs it (it doesn't come up with Windows 10) as well as the Microsoft Store app. EDIT 4: In the Apps & Features list it an app called Xbox.Live appeared instead of Xbox.TCUI! I removed it but it still appeared in CCleaner's installed apps list and I removed it there and I can still open the Store app and I don't have that problem with the Photos app! When I load in NTLite the extracted files from the ISO MSMG created the app App Xbox is marked and the Xbox.TCUI appears but is unmarked! Why does the mentioned App Xbox appear when I removed it with MSMG ToolKit? I unmarked it in NTLite and now I have the Photos app problem again! I also left it marked and I still have the Photos problem!
Hi, Where can I download please : fr_windows_10_multi-edition_version_1709_updated_dec_2017_x64_dvd_100406723.iso Thank you !
It's offered on WU, at my laptablet it was offered without me interferring, probably after the last Defender Definitions update that will have set the QualityCompat regkey (didn't look at the register before the CU got installed by WU).
Might be an idea to inform that there is a mandatory reg key to avoid unusable systems after the update . Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat with DWORD: cadca5fe-87d3-4b96-b7fb-a231484277cc
NO You need to download the Dec 2017 Refresh (16299.125) , install, then use Windows Update to get 16299.192.
I did that for 7: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-7-hotfix-repository.19461/page-508#post-1401646 Defender on 7 doesn't set the regkey. I know, only when no AV is installed the key is not present, but win 10 defender probably set the key at it's definitions update (testing as we speak).
If I have Win 10 v1709 16299.15 install.wim of 15 SKUs respectively and will make AIO (15in1) 16299.125 ISO, which approach it right one as below. 1. 16299.15, 15 install.wim + each sku updated with KB 16299.125, than AIO 2. 16299.15, 15 install.wim + only one (home sku) first with KB 16299.125 = will automatically rest of 14 SKUs updated (??), than AIO I want to avoid every SKU update one by one. Is there any way to do so? Plz guide me, TIA
I am afraid I don't understand the question? You can't just update one and expect the others to get updated too, you have to update all sku's one for one.
Scenario 1 would be the way, 2 doesn't work. What's the use of integrating Cumulative updates that will be very soon superseded by new ones (sometimes twice a month) ... FUTILE!
I used to way 1 always but some where read a article for way 2 ( I don't agree but). Thank you @ enthusiast and @ slave77.
The first option will only work when you can offline set-edition home or home sl to all other sku's after the integration of the updates (like with 10240 could be done and probably with rs4 too).
