fresh installs just offered kb4088776 16299.308 and ssu kb4090914

 

Just got it on one PC, will likely offline it for the rest, seems to fail far less often that way.

16299.334 was kind of strangely metered out. I got it automatically on one system but had to do a manual install on 2 others, WU was not seeing it.

Can someone tell me why Windows update on RS1 download on my pc the RS3 version? I have block on the windows update settings the upgrade feature and still download the RS3 (1709).

 

Due to EOL in april MS is forcing the Upgrade via tasks (see task scheduler Library\Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator and rempl).

 

Is there any way to block the RS3 feature upgrade and stay on RS1 version? I want not the RS3.

 

Either deactivate all tasks under UpdateOrchestrator and rempl in Task scheduler manually or use https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/wumt-wrapper-script-controls-windows-update-service.72203/. @pf100 took care to handle the new mess.

 

I've got a technical question for some of the more technical users here who may have experience with editing the XAML of the Start Menu.

The underlying situation is that I've never been able to get the Start menu icon/tile background colour for Microsoft Edge to change according to the colour chosen from the Colours section of Personalization in the Settings app. Edge seems to be the only app icon which does not change according to this.

For some apps, I have been able to use the tile changer program "Windows Tile Color Changer" to change the background of the icon/tile. However, since Edge does not seem to have an underlying linked shortcut (in the Start menu, anyway) this program does not recognize it.

So my assumption is that Microsoft Edge icon/tile (and background colour) must be hardcoded into the XAML of the Start Menu.

Does anyone know of a method to change the background colour for the Microsoft Edge icon/tile in the Start Menu? If that includes manually editing the XAML to achieve, please let me know as well.
