[DISCUSSION] Windows 10 (1709 RS3) "Fall Creators Update" Final 16299.15 , 16299.64 & 16299.125 (PC)

Got it installed. Almost everything works except when I game, I get black screens. Sometimes if I Alt+Tab out and in it fixes it. Other times it stays black and I have to force shut off and reboot. Hopefully that's just a GPU driver issue that'll get ironed out when Nvidia releases one for this version.

 

Which driver version are you on ? I don't have that with the latest game ready driver !

 

Already try winaero tweaker, o&o shutup, WPD and block with host file tweak but non of them are work, just wait for new tweak

 

ok so you need wait more one time I'm sure that soon someone here find solution for this issue

 

Bugs:
1) Feedback bug on button is real. "It won't stay in [Never]"

2) Start menu sometimes resets twice after reordering some icons:

1. Install Windows 1709
2. Install Office
3. Unpin some Microsoft Store crap apps from the start menu
4. Pin excel icon to the start menu
5. Move excel icon anywhere.​

Then the menu resets, deleting all your changes and pinned icons.

3) Disable all privacy settings for startmenu/cortana and it damages local searches for new installed software. Ex: Install Firefox, search for firefox in the startmenu (typing) and nothing is displayed...

What else is not working??

 

yep same here with my 3rd machine for test and more boot is very slow and my rig is relatively new, maybe soon M$FT fix but for a while I'm stick with 2016 LTSB

 

At least this one is not new. I have this bug since build 1703. Also I believe it have nothing to do with privacy settings, as I have this damned search issue, even on a clean install.
Open C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages and find Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy
Also launch Task Manager>Detail tab. Kill the SearchUI.exe process and very quickly delete the Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy folder. (Hopefully you do it quickly.) SearchUI.exe will re-appears again and the Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy folder will be re-created.
Now open Processes tab in Task Manager, right click on Windows Explorer and then left click on restart.
This will solve that search issue until you install something new.

 

Actually if you kill Cortana 6 times, then it gives you enough time until it starts again (if it starts) to delete the cache mentioned above.
A reboot is useful after that.

 

Seems like the more I wait for this RTM release, the more time it takes to release

Guys which is the rtm build can anyone give the rtm build number i m so confused. Which should i download. I need to install Windows 10

 

Benn on this since october 4th, and had 2 crashes. Computer just freezes, and only solution is to use the reset. Problem is, nothing shows up in the log files, other than computer was rebooted after a not proper shutdown. Only had the problem with this build. (16299.15)

 

The one with the ending 16299.15 and not the .0 good luck

 

Maybe it's hardware problem. It could be even something simple.

 

When check windows update then windows defender update in definition for insider version. Maybe is channel active to insider to 17 Oct.

 

Don't have the problem on 1703 only 1709, so im sure it's a software issue in 1709 :/
