Oh yes, the path is correct, I was running the command in the same folder the file is in. SSU installed fine, CU fails, same folder.
No external storage plugged in. There is a drive D: consisting of a RAID 0 of two SATA SSDs. Drive C: is NVMe.
Okay, I have two ISO files here. First, the 18362.86.19042-2142 obtained through uupdownloader_1.2.3. Second, the MSDN (MVS) release of 18362.30 : en_windows_10_business_editions_version_1903_x64_dvd_37200948.iso I am about to do a clean install on my main workstation here. I am trying to decide between these two. The uup version 18362.86 saves me from having to immediately update, but it leaves me on Pro, and my preference is Enterprise. Theoretically, I should be able to install 18362.86 Pro, and then slmgr -ipk <gvlk> And I should be able to install enterprise 18362.30, and then let windows update do it's thing. Which do you think is the better / safer option? Or does it likely not matter?
Why don't you just create the desired sku from the uup file set or just use the iso and online install the new ssu/cu and flash update.
On a related note, while trying to decide if I wanted to do a clean install this time, I was looking for when I did the last clean install. A google search returned some very wrong answers. It seems that the conventional, old answers for finding when windows was installed are no longer accurate in these days of "windows as a service". They're just going to tell you the last time you did a "major upgrade", ie, to "1809". The better way, rather obvious once you think about it: Go to "C:\Program Files", and sort by date. The earliest date shown there will be the last time you did a clean install and started over re-instlling all of your favorite applications.
I may be missing something fairly obvious here, but when I ran uupdownloader_1.2.3 I didn't see any option for "Enterprise" ? ON EDIT: is that what "create virtual editions is about?
the same issue I've posted earlier, didn't get any reply/resolution AOF, even before mine, two other members also posted this same same AFA I can remember.
I am sorry for off topic but i would like to know how to open a new thread/tema in the forum. I don't see such a option...
Okay, ran uupdownloader_1.2.3 again, chose "create virtual editions", wound up with this.
