Wider is a lot better. It makes the text in the boxes much easier to read for the average person, especially with the scaling setting set above 100 percent. From here on out, it would be naturally expected that Explorer is going to be getting minor changes as time goes on which will make for a full change to Explorer in a future build
Exactly. I've 4K screen with 125% DPI and this bigger address and search bar is much much more visible, easier to access, click, read and locate. Old one was too small. Now its better.
If the scale is above 100% why not But 100%, it's just too ugly It looks like a "design" for the visually impaired with the 100% scale Microsoft has reduced the thickness of the address bar in Edge Canary, so if it is to increase it in the explorer ....
That's File Explorer Search: OneDrive integration. One of the 1909 features that backported from 20H1 in 19H2 with deeper integration of the Enhanced Mode' search in the search bar. Use the search bar in both 1903 & 1909 and you can see the differences.
Personally my PC is at 100% and honestly the visibility is a huge plus, it will also be for a huge number of other users. You lie in the minority here unfortunately. Plus, we don't know if the wider bars will tie in to another update in the future.
Anyone getting any microstutters inside AND outside the games? Like I try to open Task Manager and it stutters for 1 second. I am on 18363.418 with the newest Nvidia drivers 436.51. Don't know if it's the drivers, the OS or the combination(which I doubt it's the combination since 16363 doesn't change anything significant)
The instructions in this forum for transitioning from 1903 to 1909, are generally correct. Applying KB4517245 unlocks 1909 features that reside in 1903 (18362) and changes updates from the slow-ring to the release-preview ring. Don't try this with 1809 (17763). The transition works as long as your build is 18362 and your service pack number is lower than 388. Simply run winver at a command prompt. The first 5 numbers are your build number. The last 3 numbers are your service pack number. If your service pack number is 388 or above, then you may want to hold off for the 1909 ISO that will likely be released later in October or possibly in November. Think of 1909 as in a Release-Preview ring test phase. If all goes well, then the 1909 ISO will most-likely be released late in October or possibly in November.
You mean 100% noobproof correct? 1909 EP being a 18362.32x+ update, of course it can't be used on previous builds. 1. There is no higher deltabuild at the moment (for 18362.10022 users they can simply use any 18363.xxx ISO to do an inplace upgrade to 18363.xxx). 2. It only works online for 18362.32x+ installs. 1909 = 18362.1 + 1909 EP + 18362.32x+ SSU/CU. The only thing still exclusive in the RP ring, is KB4517245, all other updates are public and the same as for 1903.
It's not a major build it still and will be 18362/1903 based, the fake 18363/1909 designation is a fake/mock one, only to uphold the 2 new builds per year scenario. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...pc-19h1-2-release.79259/page-282#post-1551877 20H1 will be the next new major build, with a freshly compiled new iso.
I dualboot win 7 and win 10 on all my pc's, and I must say I'm at the point to dump win10. Everything is snappier on win7. I don't care support for win 7 officially ends january 20th, I will keep using win7
Can you upload the products.cab file from the $windows.~ws folder? On my system, it still downloads: Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <MCT> <Catalogs> <Catalog version="1.3"> <PublishedMedia id="" release=""> <Files> <File id=""> <FileName>18362.356.190909-1636.19h1_release_svc_refresh_CLIENTCHINA_RET_x64FRE_zh-cn.esd</FileName>
