few questions 1) did anyone had any issues with sound and browers shuttering / freezing??? 2) did your task manager show false usage on ram 3) did your ram speed is correctly on task manager mine normally is 2993 but task shows 1498? i had all this 3 after upgrade/clean installation... so i forced my self go back too 1809 and now all is fixed my ram shows normally speed instead of 1993 and usage from 40-50% is 31% only with few pages open etc..
This is happening to me in the skip ahead build, last 2 builds now. Anything in the settings will crash right after reboot. Let it settle then it is fine.
apps and features was crashing on me like crazy yesterday today it is all well and working who knows could of been MS play around . remember windows 10 1/2 of the OS is MS server ,if you have no internet you won't have much of anything win 10 is to offer
From the blog post: The final May 2019 Update build will spend increased time in the Release Preview Ring of the Windows Insider Program, allowing us to gather more feedback and insights on compatibility and performance at scale before making the update more broadly available. During this period, we are significantly expanding interaction with our ecosystem partners, including original equipment makers (OEMs) and independent software vendors (ISVs), which should help improve initial quality across a variety of devices, hardware and software configurations. OEMs will begin manufacturing new PCs and devices with this same build, and both OEMs and ISVs will begin deployment of the May 2019 Update internally with their employees. Additionally, Microsoft will aggressively internally deploy the May 2019 Update during the Release Preview period and encourage employees to do the same on their personal devices. By carefully studying data from this expanded population and for this additional time, we will gain increased confidence in Windows quality before offering it to a broader audience later in May. ______________________ As soon as a full 18362.1 ESD / ISO will be available, I will be confident to finally start a clean install on my main rig
now it is certain that the to be released build is 18362.1. and MS will test for a few weeks before making it public. i think there will be some cumulative updates for it. they want to make sur thar there is no serious bugs or compatibility issues.
Can someone tell me the difference between UUP, ISO and ESD (also, if only some editions, languages and maybe other things are released in a first stage in the UUP's case and maybe in the other two as well)? I know I can convert the first and the last to ISO but why are so many people saying they'll wait for ESD even after UUP is available for download (it looks like UUP is released before ESD) and why can't the ISO images be directly downloaded and we have to download and convert UUP or ESD to it?
Settings links to good old and aways working CP anyway, unlike that scripted nightmare. I just use Geek uninstaller for apps and DISM for features. I learnt to avoid using default Windows whatever as much as possible. Yes, I have noticed it immediately. 1809 was actually pretty good in the terms of performance, but 1903 is so far a disappointment. Other people have reported it too, but MS still have not fixed sorting by usage in Users tab, so they do not really care about it. No one uses Windows task manager for anything serious, not even Microsoft. Try Process Explorer, Anvir or Process Hacker Nightly.
UUP is a "collection" of single delta upgrade files that, all together for the same build, compose the full OS that can be converted to ISO for full upgrade or clean install, but this "collection" is done by a custom web extractor made by the community. An ESD file is a full distribution OS image done by Microsoft, with a full OS build officially compiled by them. It's encrypted and generally proposed via Windows Update, but can be "grabbed" from their online servers and easily decrypted and converted to ISO for full upgrade or clean install. Generally an official ESD and an official ISO are identical, while an ISO generated from UUP delta files can be slightly different (black background during clean install instead of blue, and other slight differences). That's why I generally prefer official ESD or ISO for clean install, as both are full OS images compiled by Microsoft, and not by us.
I use MSMG Toolkit v8.8 to integrate .30 CU and SSU updates. The latest 9.2 version throws up annoying "Not compatible with Insider Preview blah blah" messages. With CU integrated, I upgraded my v1809 build and everything went smoothly.
Thanks, although I've never been proposed an ESD via Windows Update since I'm not an insider and regarding the last paragraph, if it were ISOs whose source were the UUP files it wouldn't be compiled by Microsoft, according to your first paragraph, and do you know how much time we generally need to wait until ESD or official ISOs are released after UUP is released and how can this custom web extractor get these files before Microsoft release the official ISO or ESD?
With 18362.1 I couldn't install any Optional Features (fonts, languages, etc.), both via Settings and by using dism.exe /Add-Package with CAB files from UUP dump (I just kept getting 0x800F0950 errors). 18362.30 has fixed that. The Apps page in Settings also isn't crashing now.
Every time you upgrade your Windows 10 installation via Windows Update it will download, extract and upgrade using an ESD file (even in Production, not only for Insiders), you just don't know/see what's happening in the background... From what Microsoft said, next week they will start releasing full 18362.1 ESD for the first time and for Release Preview Insiders, but the same ESD will be also used by the end of May in Production, coupled with a first, separate, official monthly cumulative update that will be created during the additional month of testing requested by Microsoft (this is good for final users). This basically means that next week we will have the final ESD also for us to convert to ISO and safely clean install our machines (so even for non-Insiders).
I had download 18362.30 adgiauard team and clean install on T420, but extremely slow on boot and after showing desktop, about 1 or 2 minutes to load taskbar and system tray icon, but after that, working fast, any other have this problem? (clean install and before install any driver or app this problem exist and no difference after update and drivers installed)
i clean install with optimized telemetry remove bloats spectre and stuff like that with optimize gaming!!and the windows explorer is very fast the best windows 1903 i even seen
