In the not so distant past, you also had to copy/move some files if you wanted to use some functions that expected to find them in the old location (OC Scanner in MSI Afterburner comes to mind, Nvidia updated the gpu_stressor API and fixed it for DCH later).
Performance should be identical though. Using DCH for months now without any issues for all the components that offer it.

Thanks for the extra info. I personally don't use anything related to reshade or Nvidias own, Geforce experience is cancer.

Well that was a drag..
Yesterday I let WU install a CU for build v1903 & ended up w/ 18362.535
Afterwords & after another restart my 100+ desktop folders were rearranged

So after starting to rearrange them I decided to just use the Windows restore point that was created before the update,
that ran fine except around 50% of the files in the folders was GONE

*I hate it when that happens

I did recover all after around 7-8 hours of saving new files that I could still find & moving them to a storage drive
& then doing a WSE2016 complete partition restore.

After a few restarts all was good again & the CU installed w/o any problems
naturally before I installed that CU I did a full WSE2016 backup of the PC w/ all my new files I had moved previously.

I can't burn DVDs. I'm using Verbatim DVD-Rs and whenever I try to burn one of them it talks about a PMA update failure.

On my standard 1903 image (where few of identical hardware has is applied) I could always update fine till Nov 2019
Dec 2019 worked on 2 machines, other 7 decided to give an error:

It would be helpful to know what ***** element it is!

I can not just restore them easily (because of amount of VR software applied to the specific accounts)
None of the dism/stc repair options made any difference

This may be a dumb question, but here goes anyway …

The MVS ISOs that you’re talking about here say “18362.535”. I would think by this time they would say “18363.535”? And does the difference actually matter?

The reason I ask, my main box at home is hung up on installing the upgrade to 18363.535, I have tried a number of times, through Windows Update, and it always fails. Which leads me to trying the “in-place upgrade”.

If I am on 18363.476 (I am at work, don’t remember the numbers for sure, definitely “18363.xxx”, and the “xxx” part is the last one before 535), can I “in-place upgrade” with an 18362 ISO image instead of an 18363?
