I haven't tested them in quite a while, but besides the setup files, the UUP built ISOs are also a bit larger. It's clearly not the same method that MS uses to assemble their ISOs, with the cabs and such. It's not bad or anything. Systems will run the same, regardless. It's just that the install media is a bit different.
yes, that I noticed too that media size is larger, it may be the file compression technique they use in the media (read ISO) or cutting of the extra unnecessary files that used to add-on by the UUP dumb, regardless, they're certainly change something in the distributives or the way they've implimented it, although it's unclear ATM. In your earlier commnet, you mentioned about superiority, IDK by that if you only mean the reduces size or anything else, hence asked you about your observation. BTW, it's been a long while since I read your comment in open thread, I don't see you that often lately, where have you been? Been busy for the last couple of years, don't see you that often here like old days.
It's standard online language for 'Original Post', so here it means the post at the top of Page 1 of this thread.
I have lurked from time to time, but since I stopped doing updated windows versions every so often I just haven't needed to keep up to date on the latest happenings. Plus a lot of the release torrents would need to have some way of activating, so a lot of various avenues of discussion and tech would overlap. I think one of the more prouder moments I have of my time on MDL was helping to try to make a self-contained mini kms activator for I think 8.1 with Update. Whichever one needed the ip address fake. Figuring that stuff out and helping get something going was a labor of love, not for the piracy, but just to do it. I'm glad to see a lot of the old timers still around like slave77 and abbodi1406. I'm a bit amazed at how much enthousiast has taken charge of these release threads. He's really been keeping everything consolidated and up to date. It's very helpful if you don't have time to read every post. I still very much enjoy this forum. It's just that like I said, when you aren't working on all the various things, you end up posting less.
Yes, I've noticed that too but well, TBH I am Intel+Nvidia guy, so can't say anything specific about AMD, just provided the latest one as you asked but that NVDA driver is working flawlessly in my Nvidia Geforce 1060 6GB AMP Edition
Yes, you can make a localized iso with the svf files, the links are posted in the OP. It actually makes sense for the members of this forum that are not here just for the newest Microsoft isos, but for the useful tools that are developed by some members. If people want download links to the isos, then they should pay for a Visual Studio subscription. God forbid that they learn something useful by reading a little about how to make an iso with an svf patch...
Hmm, those old good days, I can remember too, many old fellow like you ain't active nowdays, Time flies, things changed, and that's the law of life. Anyway, good to see you around after all.
Can I upgrade from 1803 (windows 10 pro) to 1903 (windows 10 pro), just by using the setup.exe in the MSDN published ISO's, like for instance "en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_1903_x64_dvd_b980e68c.iso". I think this setup will upgrade a previous windows installation, keeping all former settings ?
I have not yet installed 1903 but every prior version has worked exactly like that, you can run setup from the root of the ISO and choose to keep everything.
You can upgrade by 1903 ISO, as long as the 1903 iso is the same language and architecture as the current 1803 install.
