You keep forgetting that 1903 is not meant to be available outside of the insider preview rings, because we have UUP download options we already have the base and on MVS they made 1903 available for developers, but with pre-integrated updates. MSFT only talks about what they officially release, and 18362.30 is the base, according to them.
Then it probably has other updates, but nobody knows for sure, this is some info about what to expect:
I did few upgrades in place from 1809 to 1903 with the ISO and on one of the installations, .NET Framework both 3 & 4 got corrupted / missing. The relevant mum, cat etc. files are missing in C:\Windows\servicing\packages. I copied the files from a working computer and tried to install using DISM and while it says it is completed, in fact does not restore anything. I also tried to run Windows 10 upgrade/repair on top, but the upgrade fails at the end. I would like to keep the installed applications on this computer, which now is functional with basic functionality as is, but without the functionality requiring .NET, which are mmc consoles or powershell. The .NET Framework items are also missing from the GUI under Control Panel/Programs and Features/Turn Windows features on or off. Can anybody help please?
For Surface devices, check to be sure you don't have a card in the SD slot before running the upgrade.
@antonio8909 had the same experience with dotnetfx3 not being available, the only solution was clean installing 1903. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ow-rp-19h1_release.79259/page-37#post-1513778 @antonio8909 seems to experience all kinds of problems on his laptop.
i tried an inplace upgrade on old testing machine... hardware not supported wait untill this update will be avaible on windows update... ok let's try on VM... same s**t, hardware not supported... i cannot f..ing format and clean install every 6month... so annoying... i have many machines so i thought to move forward the work... no way.
Don't install windows that still is under development, not released to the customers/general public. MSFT announced that in the future there will be more options for delaying the new feature updates (upgrades).
i got around the hardware driver problem on lenovo yoga 3 5th gen by deleting all the files with compat in it and then went back to setup screen and hit refresh and voila it went thru and after install updated on wu to cu .53 and works fine if that What I did to get around an upgrade block was this: when the setup program gets to the point that says there is an incompatibility, leave it there and open File Explorer and go to C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\ Delete all the files that start with compat in their file name. Then, back over on the setup app, click the Refresh button and it should allow you to proceed
@ch100 I guess the only way other than clean install, is to extract the missing packages and add them back to the system Microsoft-Windows-NetFx4-US-OC-Package Microsoft-Windows-NetFx4-WCF-US-OC-Package and that may or may not work you need another clean system, or mounted 18362.1 image + https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1271056
Why is the 1903 (18362.30) slow AF?.. Isn't workin' as smooth as 1803.. Even browsing and scrolling is laggy. Does Telementary needs to be removed for it to be working fast?
