well. it is my guess that you did not write it. according to your signature.. but. just for the sake of the argument, consider this. we had thousands of visitors on-line, when m$ reinvented the square wheel.. users ever online was 4,747, 12 Nov 2012 at 19:56. and now??? next to nothing! members do not want to waste their time on it, is my guess. and they are dead rght!
I don't have duplicate folders. Maybe if you install this build again you will not see these duplicate folders.
I've heard of some people reinstalling 10074 over 10074 and fixing things The fact is, is that possible?
Is anyone having problems with consistent notifications in this build? After a while, they stop displaying on the desktop for me but do continue to accrue in the notifications center, so they do exist. Restarting Windows or the shell will make it work, but only for a short time. This is annoying because mail notifications are important (Outlook in my case). Double-check that, since the usual policy continues to work here. I confirmed that by looking at the Metro UI and saw that "last checked" for updates was when I actually manually last checked, and "Choose how updates are installed" is on "Never check for updates" (and greyed out).
The recycle bin keeps telling me there is deleted content but nothing in it. And, the notifications keep reminding me of a pending restart, even though no updates occurred that need a restart. I can check for updates, restart, and still be reminding of a pending restart needed, even after rebooting several times. Other than those few quirks, its a quite solid build for me.
Yes...I've done it several times with several builds, in fact. It's actually the way to do a "repair reinstall" (remember that in XP?) in Win10. Works great last time I did it...but just like with XP, when you're finished, any patches that have been installed since the build was released will need to be reinstalled. Just like with XP, the process leaves all of your files and 3rd-party programs intact, however.
Don't mean to be flippant, because I'd like to understand what you mean, but as it's written I haven't the foggiest...
Yeah, thanks for the info and I think that reinstalling the updates is not a big deal. I'll try that later to see if some bugs get fixed.
okay. just wondered what made 4747 people look at what was then w8.. we are now a bit futher, and m$ is talking about free upgrades. forgive me for for being a bit suspicious.
My firs Computer was a ti99/4a, so just use a little mats... Some years ago no one minded to do an install other than starting from an ISO or from a local folder. Indeed reading my comments was not needed, the news of super slow upgrades were in any tech oriented websites
